Our distant uncle has an only child a sweet young woman who is studying Psychology and is expected to graduate next year. You know how life in the Philippines can be. Sometimes, you have to work incredibly hard just to survive and achieve your dreams. Her father has maintenance medication to take, and without them knowing, this sweet girl was working part-time while studying so she could also help provide for her own education. She was only around 22 years old, if I remember correctly. Then, one day, her body suddenly gave up. It happened in the blink of an eye. What seemed like an ordinary life suddenly changed when she was diagnosed with leukemia a heartbreaking and relentless disease. She fought so hard for her life, holding on and hoping for more time in this world. But eventually, her body could no longer fight, and God called her home. Her story reminded me so much of a very good friend of mine whom I also lost to leukemia. I remember how hard she fought just to stay alive, just to have more time in this world. She fought with everything she had, and watching someone fight so desperately for another day makes you realize how precious life truly is. Sometimes, we become so busy working, earning money, achieving our goals, and planning for the future that we forget the most important thing we are alive today. Life is fragile and unpredictable. We can make plans, work hard, chase our dreams, and worry about tomorrow, but none of us truly knows when our last breath will be. We cannot question God about what will happen or when our journey will end. BUT This is a reminder to all of us, It is good to work hard. It is good to have dreams and goals. But please remember to rest, take care of your body, and appreciate the life you have today. We only have one life, and despite all the struggles, disappointments, and hardships we experience, life is still a beautiful gift. Health is wealth. Take care of yourself. Spend time with the people you love. Rest when you need to. Appreciate the little things. And never take another day for granted.
