Hey everyone — thanks so much for being here and for joining Thrift Insider.
I’ve decided to archive the community for the time being while I simplify a few things and focus my time on the projects that are getting the most traction. I really appreciate everyone who joined, posted, commented or just quietly followed along. I’m glad I gave this a proper go, but I don’t want to keep a community open unless I can give it the time and energy it deserves. The domain thriftinsider.com isn’t disappearing, so who knows ...Thrift Insider may return in a different form down the track 😉 Thanks again for being part of it. ❤️ Jo

I’ve now turned that into a new group called Real AI Studio for beginners who want to create realistic, consistent AI characters + videos without getting lost in endless tools. @Faye Lougher I'm ex advertising industry many years ago ...and really enjoy it ...but I can see how many people would be worried about aspects of the creativity for sure ❤️

@Julianne Anderson oh I missed this comment - funnily enough I spent a couple of hours with my sister today who's a glass artist playing with some of her photos for her website. I put her glass hung on a wall with lights as if it was a magazine shoot and some of the shots were incredible....I doubt she'd want to use ai creatively for her glass but to show people how it might look in certain places in a house or business as a sales tool...just amazing

Thrifters always think we can fix anything 😂
Bought it because “it just needs a little work.” Now it’s been sitting untouched for 6 months. What thrift project are you still pretending you’ll finish?

@Julianne Anderson I mean you can rewire a lamp you just can't do it to resell it, secondhand electrical has to be tagged here and in Australia too I think

I created Op Shopping Australia and Op Shopping New Zealand on facebook with 100k+, and one thing I learned is that great recommendations quickly disappear down the Facebook feed. Here, we can keep them organised so everyone can benefit. If you know your local thrift community, we'd love your help. @Heather Azzarello I was thinking do you have a local are you'd recommend for thrifting? I'm working on a member recommendation guide for the classroom as a reference. I'm not sure what would be the best way to compile it yet but it would be a big help for the community I think
