Hi Everyone 👋 Another busy day here at La Bichurie, Up early this morning, collected 380kg of wood pellects for my retreat center boiler, then stacked them ready for use in the boiler room, continued chopping and stacking wood then cut about 3 acres of grass around the house, the orchard and the top field, ohh.. and did some more retreat centre washing, all before 12 noon ....Lots to do this afternoon too, all good for my physical and mental health. Hi Everyone 👋 For a while now, I’ve been quietly working on something very close to my heart. Coming soon to our Peaceful Path Classroom will be a growing collection of workshops, practices, teachings and experiences designed to help you navigate this extraordinary, sometimes difficult, sometimes beautiful thing we call life. And these aren't things I’ve simply pulled from a textbook. They’ve grown from more than fifty years of living, learning, questioning, getting things wrong, beginning again and discovering what really matters. They draw from my years of practice in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Behavioural Psychology, together with the many years I’ve spent sitting, learning and sharing with Buddhist and Taoist masters in China, India, Bhutan and Tibet. Some of what I'm bringing into the Classroom has taken me a lifetime to discover. And now, I'm going to share it with you. 🌱 For you. 🌱 For the people you love. 🌱 For the journey you're walking right now. There will be things to learn, things to practise, things to reflect upon… and perhaps a few things that make you stop and see your life from a completely different perspective. I'm genuinely excited about what's coming. And because you're already part of The Peaceful Path, you'll be among the first to experience it. Hi Everyone 👋 We tend to think of transmission as an event. Something that happens when we are in the presence of a great teacher. A moment of grace that strikes like lightning. A single, transformative encounter that changes everything. And yes, that happens. I have felt it. I have sat in the presence of beings whose stillness was so profound that my own mind stopped its chattering. I have felt the transmission pass between us—wordless, seamless, unmistakable. But here is what I have learned since then, and it has changed everything.... The transmission never ceases. It is not an event. It is a current. It flows through everything, through the trees, through the air, through the silence between words, through the kindness of a stranger, through the sound of rain on the roof. It is always there. We are just not always receptive. The great teacher is not the source of the transmission. They are the conduit. They are the ones who have become transparent enough that the current flows through them without obstruction. And the same is possible for us. We are not meant to be receivers forever. We are meant to become conduits ourselves. This is what the great Mahayana teachings point to..... the Bodhisattva path. The understanding that our awakening is not complete until we are able to offer it to others. That the transmission does not stop with us. It flows through us. The Daoists speak of the Dao, the Way that is unnamable, ungraspable, yet always present. It flows through the river. It bends the bamboo. It guides the seasons. And it flows through us when we get out of the way. So here is my question for you today.... Where is the transmission flowing in your life right now? Not the dramatic moment, the quiet ones. The small kindnesses. The unexpected moments of clarity. The gentle nudges that feel like guidance. Where is it flowing, and are you letting it flow through you to others? With love ❤️ Always Mark
