Parents of Seniors: It's October 1. Officially FAFSA day.
Most people don't know the 2027–28 FAFSA has actually been open since Sept. 23. That's the earliest launch ever, per the U.S. Department of Education. Why care today and not in March? Some state and college aid is first-come, first-served. Once the money's gone, it's gone. Some state and college deadlines can be as early as Oct. 1, 2026. This year's FAFSA uses your 2025 tax return, so you already have everything you need. We built a free FAFSA 5-Minute Parent Checklist: what to gather, the 5 steps, deadlines to watch (including the CSS Profile), and the mistakes that slow families down. Comment "FAFSA" below and we'll send it to you. FREE Live Training: Your College Essay Is Not a Writing Assignment
Hey everyone! If you've got a student applying to college this fall, this one's for you. Coach Jo (Gifted Gabber) and Dr. Joe (SupportED Tutoring) are teaming up for a FREE live webinar: "Your College Essay Is Not a Writing Assignment — It Is Your 90-Second Pitch" Here's the thing most parents don't realize: a student can have a 4.0 GPA, strong activities, leadership, and awards... and still write an essay that disappears in the pile. Why? Because it sounds like every other strong applicant's essay. In this session, we'll cover: ✔️ Why "impressive" doesn't always mean memorable ✔️ Why the essay and the resume have completely different jobs ✔️ How an ordinary, everyday moment can make a stronger essay than a big achievement ✔️ The "Essay Spike" — the thing that gives an essay a clear identity ✔️ The 5-part framework we use to evaluate a strong essay Sunday, September 20 8:00 PM EST Live on Zoom No replay — if you can't make it live, you'll miss it. Drop a below if you're planning to join, and tag anyone in this community with a senior working on their Common App essay right now. 🔗 Register here: https://us06web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_HD9H5a73QueY29s12xMvuw
