The thing you're not opening
I've done this more times than I want to admit. One email sits. I'm late on it. And every day I don't open it, it gets heavier. That's the spiral. Fall behind. Go quiet. Avoid the thing, because looking at it means feeling it. Here's the reframe. That's not laziness. That's your brain trying to protect you from shame. Wrong move, good intent. The fix isn't a pep talk. It's a smaller door. Open it. Send ten words. "Saw this. Running behind. I'll have it to you Thursday." Late and honest beats perfect and hidden. Every time. So, real question for the room. What's the one thing you've been not opening? An email, a text, a bill, a project file, a check-in. Name it below. You don't have to fix it today. Just say it out loud. Naming it is your first ten words.

@Crystal Wong Kruger Crystal, naming it counts. Cleanup isn't scary, it's just big, so give it a date and one small first block. November you will thank you.
📌 UPDATE: How pods communicate (read this, it changed)
Quick fix to make pod life simple. Some of you weren't seeing the reply-all emails, so we're done with email for pod coordination. Here's the system from today forward, and there are only three moves: 1. Pod coordination happens in Skool DMs. Skool doesn't have group chat yet, so message your two pod mates directly (tap their name, then Chat). Yes, that means two messages instead of one. Send both, propose your 15-minute window, first mover wins. 2. Your weekly pod meeting: 15 minutes, two questions. Did the reps happen? What got in the way? Call, video, or right in the DMs. Three voice notes answering the two questions counts as a full meeting. No excuses about calendars. 3. After you meet, one of you posts in this category: pod name plus one word. "Met. Building." Ten seconds. That's the whole report. The pods: 🔸 Pod 1 · Rattana · Frenchye · Peter John 🔸 Pod 2 · Brooks · Adwoa · Terri · Jani 🔸 Pod 3 · Crystal · Quincy · Archie 🔸 Pod 4 · Mey-Ling · Nicholas · Kimberley One miss is a data point. Never miss twice. That applies to pods too.

New week. Pods, lock your 15 minutes now, not "sometime this week." First person to propose a time in your pod's Skool DMs wins. Drop your pod's meeting day below if it's already set. 🗓

@Crystal Wong Kruger Love it, Pod 3. A day and a time on the calendar is exactly the move. After you meet, drop your Met in the cohort category so the room can see it.
Last Week's Counter-Script
"I create calm and safety within myself" During last week's session, I dug deep and unearthed a new and powerful realization about myself: I let in distractions and get pulled away from the work I promise myself because I have a habit of saying yes to external tasks; e.g. when people ask me for help and when I see unfinished business ("mess"). Perhaps I learned at a young age that I was the one everyone looked to to solve problems and to keep things safe and calm. So my counter-script to "I need external calm before I can focus on myself and my own work" is now: "I create calm and safety within myself" Tagging my pod peeps: @Archie Ashcroft @Quincy Beeker

Crystal. This is the work. You didn't find a focus problem. You found an old job description. The kid who kept everyone calm grew up and kept saying yes. That's not a character flaw. It's a script you learned to stay safe. And you just rewrote it. "I create calm and safety within myself." Read it before the first yes of the day. Proud of you.

Crystal, that insight is yours. You did the noticing. The pieces were always there, now you know when to reach for them. Watch for the first test this week and tell me how it goes.
Wednesday restart
I used to treat Wednesday like a verdict. Monday slipped. Tuesday got noisy. By midday Wednesday I'd decide the week was already gone. So I'd half-work. Or wait for next Monday. Here's the reframe: Wednesday isn't a report card. It's a door. You don't need a new personality. You need one honest restart. Pick the one outcome that would still make Friday feel like a win. Write it down. Start there. Leave the rest parked. If your week already went sideways, what's your one restart move today?

Kim. You're not a leech. You're wired for connection. That's not a flaw to fix. It's fuel to schedule. Most fast brains try to force motivation alone, then call themselves lazy when the tank runs dry. You just named your real system. Other voices get you moving. So stop waiting for it to happen by accident. Put it on the calendar like any other appointment. One call, one room, one conversation a week that's there to charge you up. And this room counts. When you're stuck in your head, come drop it here. That's what it's for. What's one connection you could lock in for next week?

Crystal. That’s not you creating a trap. That’s your body calling the play. Your husband saw it. You saw it. And you chose the counter-script over the guilt. That is the work. Rest is not falling behind. Rest is how you stay in the game. Take care of you first. The work will still be there when you’re ready.
