Okay, Directory friends, I need your brains on this one because the numbers have me scratching my head! 😂 When I first joined Skool, my community, The Smell of Money, was placed in the Relationship category. I immediately requested to move to Money because that's what I teach! Cash flow, debt reduction, money management, and wealth building. What I didn't realize was how many communities in the Money category focus on MAKING money through marketing, advertising, technology, and selling. Apparently teaching people how to MANAGE the money they make is a whole different animal! Maybe I belong in the Hobby category! 😂 But that's not why I'm posting. Let's talk about Discovery and ROI. 💸 I turned on Skool Discovery to see whether it would help grow my community. Currently, I'm ranked #1,684. Then something happened. One of my Premium members joined, and I realized she hadn't used the referral link from the VIP member who invited her. Instead, Skool received a 30% commission! 😳 That didn't sit well with me. So I decided to test turning Discovery OFF. Skool immediately warned me that my ranking would drop into the 3,000s and I'd receive NO Discovery referrals. Interesting, right? 🤔 Meanwhile, SEVEN spammers have tried to join my community. And between migrating my business systems and dealing with AWS holding my domain hostage, I haven't had time to dig into whether Discovery is actually producing results. But here's where my financial brain kicked in... Are we measuring GROWTH or PROFIT? Skool lets us give up anywhere from 30% to 70% in commissions to potentially get more traffic. But more traffic doesn't automatically mean more paying members. And more paying members don't necessarily mean more profit if we're giving away a significant percentage to acquire them. I teach entrepreneurs to stop making money decisions based on feelings and start looking at their numbers. So I need to practice what I preach! Here's what I'm curious about: 💸 Are you using Discovery? At what percentage?
