A new study out of Northwestern this week found that the ovary is still biologically active long after menopause. The researchers were careful to say there’s a lot they don’t know yet. Funny how that lands. A lot of us were handed a different sentence years ago. “You don’t need those anymore.” “That’s just your age.” “Everything looks normal.” Short, confident, and over before we knew we had a question. Here’s what I keep thinking about. Those sentences weren’t always wrong. They were just incomplete, and we carried them for years as if they were the whole map. So let’s say them out loud, together. No judgment about anyone, and no medical advice from us (we’re not each other’s doctors). Just the sentence, so nobody has to carry it alone. What’s one thing a doctor said about your body in midlife that has stayed with you? Drop it below, even just a few words.
