Since May there has 430 posts in this feed. Four hundred of them were mine. I asked the questions, ran the calls, posted the playbooks twice a day, and answered everything. Most days the only voice in this room was me, and I am not going to keep spending my time and money keeping the lights on in a room that will not talk back. First, the thank you, because it is owed. Theresa, John, Cheryl, Knockout, Sharon, Kitoko, Jim, Tyler, Red, and the few others who posted their work, asked real questions, and answered somebody else's. You were the community. Every good conversation this room ever had, you were in it, and I will not forget that. I am not disappearing. Distance: a lav or any mic close to your mouth makes background noise relatively quieter without a single soundproofing panel. The audio floor is cheap: any decent mic CLOSE to your mouth beats an expensive mic across the room, soft surfaces kill echo better than software does, and one test recording in the actual space before the real take catches ninety percent of disasters.
