Moving Abroad as a Family? Prepare for More Than Just the Move
Hi everybody, i am not sure if i post this in the right category, but i want to share something with you all that might help you, if you are looking to relocate to another country with your family. When you're preparing for an international move, it's easy to focus on the practical side: 📦 Packing boxes. 🏠 Finding a house. 📄 Organising visas. 🎒 Choosing schools. But one of the biggest challenges often begins after you arrive. Every family member experiences the move differently. - You may be excited about your new job, while your partner is leaving behind friends, family, or a career. - Your children might seem to adapt quickly at school but quietly miss the life they left behind. There is no "right" way to adjust. Here are a few ways to make the transition easier: ✨ Talk openly about expectations before you leave. What are you each looking forward to? What worries you? ✨ Accept that everyone adapts at their own pace. One person may settle in within weeks, while another may need months. ✨ Create familiar family routines as soon as possible. Friday movie night, Sunday pancakes, or bedtime stories can provide stability when everything else feels new. ✨ Encourage everyone to build their own social network. Your partner and children need connections that aren't dependent on yours. ✨ Expect ups and downs. Some days your family will feel like you've made the best decision ever. Other days someone may want to pack their bags and go home. Moving abroad isn't just a change of address... it's a transition for your whole family. And i am curious, for those of you who have already moved abroad with your family, what was the biggest adjustment for you?

@Georgina Al Hallis yes, i experienced it the most when moving back to the Netherlands with my Indonesian husband and 2 teenagers. We all had different adaptations to go through.

@Brenda Rigney i can imagine! Living between 2 states can also trigger mini culture shocks everytime they travel! Connecting both worlds is the key. Feeling confident in both surroundings. 😊

📚 Learnings
Future of Skool with Sam Ovens
I just spent two hours listening to Sam Ovens — the guy who actually built Skool — talk about how it really works. It's less about growth hacks. It's more about why engagement is the whole game, why urgency backfires, and why passion is quietly winning right now. If you've got the two hours, watch the whole thing. It's worth it. If you don't, I pulled 11 of the pieces that mattered most into a little tool you can click through — what he said, what's worth paying attention to, where people usually trip up, and one thing you can actually go try in your own community. It's in the All-Access Speaker Pass for $9 (goes up to $29 on July 27). If you have already purchased the All-Access Speaker Pass, you can find the new Field Guide App here Start wherever you want, there's no order to finish in. You can even write your answers right in the tool and download them to keep. I'm curious which one lands hardest for you. Drop the chapter number in the comments — I want to see if we're all noticing the same thing.

@Lindsay MacGregor yes me too! I feel like passion driven projects have to work just a pinch harder to get noticed

One of the best ways to grow is to support each other on Skool. So let's do that 👇 ** 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗱𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗦𝗸𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲...𝗻𝗼 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀, 𝗲𝘁𝗰. Drop a comment with: 1. Your Skool community name + link 2. Who it's for (𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲) 3. What members get when they join Then scroll through and join 3 communities that genuinely interest you. Not to game the algorithm. Not for a follow back. Because you're actually curious and want to connect with people building cool things. Let's help each other get those wins 🙌
