when I was a single mom and my kids were really young, I defined what failure meant... what would happen if I failed. that visual image kept me motivated and going for 20 years. with the kids all grown up and me being in a different stage of life.. I've had to redefine that in a way that's meaningful to me right now because when they all first started leaving the nest to have their own lives I sort of lost my motivation because what failure looked like was no longer relevant.
