How do you want to feel everyday?
So many of us move through our days semiconscious. One day rolls into another, and all of a sudden it's Friday. What could our lives look like if we were just a little bit more intentional? What if we asked ourselves every morning while we were still soothed by sleep, how do I want to feel today? And then actually did the things throughout the day that made us feel how we wanted to feel?! Years ago I did Danielle Laporte's Desire Map workbook, and the six core desired feelings I came up with were: vitality, curiosity, serenity, joy, wonder, and expansion. And I still feel pretty aligned with these everyday. So, I do the things in my life that make me feel this way. I exercise and eat clean so I feel healthy and strong. I rest, sleep, take baths, slow stretch, and spend time in nature so I feel peaceful and serene. I make the time to stop (becoming present and curious) and watch the clouds, the bees, the leaves, to foster my sense of wonder. I'm constantly reading and learning about a dozen topics to continue to grow personally and professionally. You get the picture. So, how do you want to feel everyday? And what needs to become a part of your lifestyle in order for you to achieve this? You are the only boss of you, and are entirely responsible for your inner world and feelings. What are you going to do about it?

@Jen Jones sometimes I get stuck in that pattern too. I'll pick up my phone and then suddenly 45 minutes has passed. It's like a vortex for my attention. 😩 What are you going do with all the time you free up when you're not sucked into your phone? Is there something specific?

@Oceana Glantz it's beautiful how you invest in yourself! I think that's true self-care. And the more we actually take care of our body/mind/soul, the more we are able to take care of ourselves and others. I hear you about the rhythm of life! Sometimes I get hung up on wanting to feel good or productive all the time. I need to remind myself to give space for grieving and rest.
The Season of Slumber
You've read about winter being a time to rest. To follow the example of the trees, in letting go of the leaves you've carried this past year, allow them to compost into nourishment for all of the new growth coming up in the spring. Yes, that's definitely part of it. And, we could just rest. Let nature be our guide and stop growing. Stop producing, achieving, expanding, just for a bit. Just for a while to make space for ease in our body and mind. To allow some peace to settle into our bones. Of course, the things still need to be done. But, can they be done with ease? Can the dinner be easy instead of fancy? Can the kids get themselves dressed even if they look like costumes? Can the errand become a phone call or delivery? What can be postponed, delegated, or just straight up cancelled? Our human bodies didn't spend 200 000 years evolving to live the way we do. With no breaks. Overstimulation. In constant stress. And fear. And anxiety. With very little joy and play. Physical and emotional pain that we medicate just so we can keep going. For what? For who? This autumn while you're going about your days, I invite you to just notice. Notice what you feel while doing your tasks. What's motivating you in that moment? What's the payoff? Are you present while doing the things, or are you merely getting through them so you can get to the next thing? Are you noticing these things already? As the nights get cooler, are you getting cozy and winding down earlier? Leaning towards slow tasks, projects, and hobbies? What are your plans for this fall/winter?

New mini course I just recorded, I'd love your viewpoint on!
Hello ladies! I've uploaded a wee course. It's the first of about 20 I plan to record and upload, and eventually charge for. I'd really appreciate your opinion and loving criticism. The video is 21 minutes long. Obviously you're welcome to watch the whole thing, but even if you just watch a few minutes to get a feel for it, I'd be grateful! Click on "Classroom" and it's the third course - Journey to Self Agency. Please DM me with your thoughts and feelings. But also "like" (and comment on) this post so you can get points towards your levels!
