I saw an OpenAI update this week that I thought was worth sharing here. Voice is getting a lot more useful. ChatGPT Voice can now work inside Projects and use the context that’s already there, including project instructions, uploaded sources, and recent chats. You can also upload something during a voice conversation and talk through it with ChatGPT. That caught my attention because I don’t always want to sit there and type detailed feedback. Sometimes it’s much easier to explain what I don’t like about a draft out loud, especially when I know something is off but need to talk through why. I can see myself opening a Project I’m already working in, reviewing what ChatGPT created, and just talking through my edits. Since it has the Project context, I wouldn’t have to start over explaining what I’m working on every time. I haven’t played with this enough yet to know how well it’ll fit into my regular workflow, but I’m definitely going to experiment with it. Has anyone here tried using Voice inside a Project yet? I’d be interested to hear how you’re using it.

Big news this week. OpenAI has launched a new set of AI models called GPT-5.6. There are three versions. Sol is the most powerful, Terra is the balanced everyday one, and Luna is the fast, low-cost option. They've also started rolling out "ChatGPT Work", a workspace that connects to your apps and files and can build documents and presentations from a single prompt. Why this matters for accountants: - More capable models usually mean more of the fiddly admin work can be handed off - Having a cheap, fast option and a powerful one lets you pick the right tool for the job - The pace isn't slowing down ... staying curious is now part of the job I'll be honest with you ... I haven't tested any of this yet, and I'd take the bigger claims with a pinch of salt until we've seen it work on real accounting tasks. New and impressive doesn't always mean useful. Ever uploaded a document to ChatGPT and then spent 10 minutes trying to find it again three days later? OpenAI quietly introduced a Library feature back in March 2026 ... and it's now available to all users, including free accounts. It solves one of the most annoying things about ChatGPT. Here's how it works. Every file you upload to ChatGPT ... PDFs, Word documents, spreadsheets, presentations, images ... gets saved automatically to your Library. Same goes for any files ChatGPT creates for you, including generated images. The useful bit is you can pull any saved file back into a new chat. Just use the attachment menu and choose "Add from library." No more scrolling through months of old conversations. A few things worth knowing: - Your chats are NOT stored in Library ... it's purely for files - Memories are separate too ... Library doesn't touch those - Project files live in their own space inside Projects - Deleting a chat doesn't delete the files you uploaded ... they stay in Library until you remove them Storage depends on your plan. Free gets 500MB. Plus and Business get 20GB. Pro gets 100GB. My honest take? It sounds small but it changes how you work. If you're regularly uploading client templates, engagement letters, or reference documents ... you only need to upload them once. Then reuse them across any conversation. Having said that, I prefer to keep important files that I want to be referenced often as 'project files'. And I find myself now working mainly inside Codex (ChatGPT) and Cowork. Update: So almost a month later (yesterday) I tried logging into the account and it gave me an option to ask for a review so I did and told them what had transpired that day. This evening I received the following response to that review: "Thank you for taking the time to submit your appeal. After carefully considering your appeal, we have determined that we cannot reinstate your account at this time due to a violation of our Usage Policy." But do they bother to say what the violation was, of course not. So still no clue why the ban in the first place, what the "violation" was. But at this point you couldn't pay me to use Claude.ai. I'll stick with my trust Vox (ChatGPT). So I've done just a few things in Claude and maxed out since I'm on free account. Decided to go ahead and upgrade from the free plan to the Pro plan. Paid the $220.00 (yearly with tax included in the price). Takes me back to the login page and now says my account has been banned! Like, wth! And they've taken my payment. So I go to appeal the ban of course. The appeal form right off asks for your Organization ID which is found in your account which when you've been banned you can't access. Without this you can't appeal the ban. No email or chat with a real person only their AI bot. And it wants you to login. Can't do that but it does give you a button to push if you can't login. Do that. Gives you the option to "help troubleshoot" or "account has been disabled". So I choose account disabled. It immediately tells me how to appeal with the appeal form that you can't fill out because you can't get into your account and ends the chat immediately without allowing you to respond. Ok so go back in and tell it to help troubleshoot and tell it what has happened and that one can't fill out the form without being able to get the required info from the account. It again gives me the appeal form info and ends the conversation. There's no email to be able to send any info to, no way to contact an actual person to assist in this. So I'm out $220 and no way to get it back. Ask me if I'm interested in learning more about Claude now - ain't no way
