Help
I’ve been working with a girl with autism, trying to get her comfortable in the water. It’s been months and the farthest we’ve gotten is her standing on the platform by herself. That alone was a huge accomplishment, she wants to cling onto me the whole time usually. She is beginning to put her mouth to the water and have some fun in the water a bit. Mom told me this past week that they have trouble even washing her hair! Not sure if it’s sensory or what. She is a smart, communicative, and strong willed kiddo around 6 years old. I’m really getting stuck trying to get any progress.

Great episode!
New Navigating Neva episode with Selena Willows.
In our fourth session together, we talk through her 100 Minute Model, why intensive lessons can work, why short sessions matter, how parents influence outcomes, and what “guaranteed results” really means in her program. There is a difference between making promises and building the right conditions for learning. Give it a listen and let me know what stands out to you. https://open.spotify.com/episode/69teyXwsrR1Q8BM9dsFkiJ?si=-edeIQW_Q8yOPRBa4mAAIw

@Nicole M I’ve seen this recently in my adapted swim lessons. Big strides after a couple weeks of building trust. It’s amazing!
Help with fire relief
If you are able to help, please consider. It is Friday. The Fire has been burning since Monday. And people have been displaced since Monday! And the insurance companies are saying it is an act of God and therefore no insurance help…. https://gofund.me/b62d29e9c

Are you ok? We have them south of me.
I’m upset
I understand Infant Swimming Research but I have never seen a training where they throw the baby in the pool and then touch the baby shoulders and submerge them underwater, then put their wet jacket over their face. It was just to much- and back to back…
