Here’s what’s coming up: Monday, Oct. 5 – Table Read: NY State of Mind We’re doing a FULL feature table read of @Judith Halbreich's "New York State of Mind"! Come listen along and help give feedback afterward. 🎃 Friday, Oct. 9 – Make a Horror Short Film in 21 Days! Our Horror Short Film Challenge officially begins! We’ll talk about pre-production, production, and post-production, and I’ll reveal the THREE easy mystery requirements that must appear in your film. Then you have 21 DAYS to make it! Tuesday, Oct. 13 – Coffee & Creativity Grab some coffee and hang out. We’ll talk about what we’re writing, what we want to produce, new ideas, and anything else that gets us excited to create! Thursday, Oct. 15 – Follow-Up Thursday Time to actually SEND those follow-ups! If a producer, director, agent, manager, or industry contact has your script, we’ll use this time to hold each other accountable and give them a friendly nudge! Wednesday, Oct. 21 – Production Lab Bring whatever you're working on! We’ll talk productions, upcoming shoots, actors, locations, equipment, editing, problems you’re trying to solve, and anything else that helps us MAKE more movies! 👻 Friday, Oct. 30 – HORROR FILMS DUE!!! Not a meeting, but this is the deadline! If you're taking part in our 21-Day Horror Short Film Challenge, get your finished movie turned in!

Watch real actors bring a screenplay to life! On Monday, October 5th, we'll be reading "New York State of Mind," (A Feature Film dramedy written by @Judith Halbreich) If you've never experienced a real table read before, definitely come check this one out! Hearing actors bring a screenplay to life is a completely different experience from simply reading one on the page. It's also a great way to learn screenwriting by listening to what works in dialogue, pacing, characters, scenes, and the overall story. And you DON'T have to read a role to participate! Writers are more than welcome to simply join us on Zoom, watch and listen to the entire read. Afterward, we'll open things up for discussion, and anyone who would like to can offer Judith feedback and notes on the screenplay.
