Run your own AI infrastructure — Docker, homelab, local LLMs, n8n. The stack underneath the automation, and answers when it breaks.

Vote: which course do I build next?
I searched the classroom lessons for what self-hosters keep asking about on the n8n forum, and kept only what no course covers yet. Four things came out on top. Premium and VIP members pick which one I build next. 1. Lock down your n8n The courses secure your server and your Cloudflare edge. None of them secure n8n itself. This covers n8n's built-in security audit, which nodes to allow, protecting public webhooks, hiding what executions store, and what to do the day a security advisory lands. 2. Workflows that don't fail silently The worst failure is the one that says "success" and does nothing. This covers heartbeats, checking the result and not just the status, one alert per incident instead of hundreds, never processing the same thing twice, stopping a slow schedule from overlapping itself, and a safe replay queue. 3. n8n as your AI's toolbox n8n can be an MCP server, so Claude or any MCP client can call your workflows as tools. This covers exposing a workflow, putting it behind auth and your proxy, connecting a client, and making the agent ask you before it does anything it can't undo. 4. Your homelab security watch Use n8n to watch everything else you run: certificates and domains about to expire, new CVEs for the images in your compose files, breach alerts for your addresses, readable DMARC reports, and a check on suspicious links. The poll is open for 7 days. Everyone can vote, but only Premium and VIP votes are counted: the course vote is a Premium benefit. Free members, vote anyway: it tells me what you'd upgrade for. Premium members get the winner first. Picked one? Tell me in the comments what you'd use it for. If it's a tie, the option with more Premium and VIP members saying they'd use it wins, one per member. Still tied, I pick. The runner-up goes on the next vote. Pick one.

When you would rather I just built it
Some of you are here to learn this properly. Some of you have a deadline and would rather hand it over. Both are fine. This post is for the second group. I run rainmanstudio. It is the same work the classroom teaches, done for you: n8n in production, Docker and Postgres underneath it, Cloudflare in front, local models where they earn their place, and enough monitoring that you find out before your users do. The jobs that come up most: An n8n instance that keeps falling over, made stable A homelab or VPS built properly the first time, with backups that have actually been restored Local models wired into something that already exists An audit of a stack you inherited and do not trust How it works. A call first, free, to work out whether I am the right person for it. If I am not, I will say so and point you somewhere better. If I am, you get a fixed scope and a price before anything starts. Engagements start around $2,500. Most of you should build this yourself, and the classroom is there for exactly that. This is for when you would rather not.

What is actually eating your n8n disk?
Pruning being on does not stop the disk filling. n8n prunes on age OR count, whichever comes first. The defaults keep 10,000 executions or 14 days of them. Executions stuck in waiting never prune at all, and anything you tagged in the UI never prunes either. Then Postgres does not hand the space back when the rows finally go. Deleting them does not move df -h. Run this against your n8n database and paste what comes back: SELECT relname AS table_name, pg_size_pretty(pg_total_relation_size(c.oid)) AS total_size FROM pg_class c JOIN pg_namespace n ON n.oid = c.relnamespace WHERE n.nspname = 'public' AND c.relkind = 'r' ORDER BY pg_total_relation_size(c.oid) DESC LIMIT 5; I want to see what is actually at the top for people. Curious whether execution_data wins every time or whether something else turns up.
