🐈 The Art of Observation: Finding Flow Through a Pet
The Art of Observation: Finding Flow Through a Pet Watch the video below 🎥 I created this in TikTok using my poem “The Cat in the Cupboard”, from my book Step Into My Flow, with music from The Cat in the Hat film, based on the work of Dr. Seuss. 🎶🐈 The poem began simply by observing my pet. And this is your prompt: Choose a pet, animal, plant, or even a person you have around you. Instead of trying to write something, simply observe. Watch the little things. How do they move? What sounds do they make? What do they do when they think nobody is watching? Notice their rhythm, their pauses, their quirks and expressions. Stay with the observation for a few minutes. Then allow your attention to become your writing. Don't force a poem. Don't worry about rhyme, structure or whether it makes sense. Simply follow whatever begins to appear. You might write from the animal's perspective. You might describe what you see. You might discover a memory. You might notice something about yourself through watching them. 🎧 Optional: Put on some music while you observe. Let the rhythm influence your writing and see whether it helps you move into a deeper state of creative flow. Your challenge Observe. Listen. Feel. Write. What happens when you stop trying to create and simply become completely present with what is in front of you? Share whatever emerges below. It doesn't have to be polished. The observation itself is the practice. 🌿

She does not rush to start her day fast asleep nothing much to do or say. Two little people she lays at the foot of their bed ocasionally she looks up to see their tiny little heads. She will stand her post untill they wake. When their tiny little feet hit the floor She will follow them aroud till they settle Then you will find her fast asleep gaurding the door. Their furry litle protector she is far more than a pup She is part of our famialy and she givves to us far more than her love. Thank You charlie medina we love you so much.

I observe my thoughts I am the observer I control how fast they move I can quiet them down I can be peaceful Breathe deeply into the heart Intermittent silence I create much-needed interludes The body is relaxed How do you find calm? What’s your daily ritual to find peace and feel balanced? How do you step into your creative flow of balanced wellbeing? ✨ What helps you find your calm, your peace and your flow?

Ah' sweet peace He gives me and in my heart it reamains as i start my day.

YOUR HANDS - A poem by Michelle Heighway 2026 (Prompt)
The Body Remembers Think about a poem you have performed, memorised or spoken aloud. Notice what your body remembers that your mind doesn't necessarily have to think about. Where do your hands move? Where does your breath change? Where does the rhythm carry you forward? Where do you pause? Where does your body already know what comes next? Now write a poem from that physical memory. Don't worry about making it perfectly grammatical or polished. Let the poem find its own rhythm through your breath, your hands, your mouth and your movement. Think about the poem as something somatic and unsomatic: What happens in the body? What happens beyond the body? What can you feel physically? What can you feel emotionally, energetically or intuitively? Let the structure of the poem become something you can almost move through. Write it once on the page. Then read it aloud. Notice where your body naturally wants to move, breathe, pause or repeat. Read it again and allow those movements to become part of the poem. The question isn't only: What does this poem say? It's also: How does my body know how to say it?

I see a door before me A trickle of light shinning through Time was the key that had opened it To bring forth a long awated dream and at that very instant. i knew. Months had turned to years Through laughter and tears much of life already lived so far behind me. Yet somehow like a long awaitted dream Destany had come to find me. It cried out loud not a minute to early not a seconnd to late your time is now. Will you step inside or beleave a lie and denie me?......i did not hesetate i steped inside.
Poem Prompt: What Does This Image Say to You? 📸✨
This image was shot on a Canon 550D with an f/1.8 lens. I love the rule of thirds here and the shallow depth of field. I love how poetry and photography can connect and provoke thought. An image can hold a feeling, a question, a memory or a whole story, before a single word has been written. What kind of poem or concept does this image provoke in you? I’d love to hear your poem below! 📸✨ Look at the image. Forget what you think you can see. What does it make you feel? What memory does it stir? What story is hiding in the silence? Let the image become your starting point. Write whatever comes. No rules. No right or wrong. Just follow the image and see where the words take you. #stepintoyourflow

(Majic dandylions made for wishing) On a eraly evening walk under a street light i saw it. Sweet memories took me away to my childhood and quickly filled up my heart and mind. With a smile on my face I closed my eye to remember, to paint my self a picture of the very first time. Round fussy balls made just for wishing moma called them majic dandylions. I recalled a cake with 5 candels yet i only got just one wish. i remererd how lucky i felt to find them 5 magic danylions made just for wishing and all of the majic wishes were mine.

POETRY PROMPT: YOUR HANDS
I’ve been playing with mixing visuals, performance and thought in my poetry, and this one began with a very simple thought: Your hands. What do you remember about someone you loved? Their hands. Their touch. The way they moved. The little things they did without even thinking. Maybe it’s a love poem. Maybe it’s heartbreak. Maybe it’s both. So here’s your prompt: ❤️ YOUR HANDS Write a poem inspired by someone’s hands, touch, gestures, movements or the things you remember about them. It can be loved up, heartbroken, sensual, funny, nostalgic, angry, tender... whatever wants to come out. And don't overthink it. Let the words flow. I'd love to see what you create. ✍️✨ If you don't usually write love poems, give it a try! Here’s mine:

Thank You poetry is a place whare words tell a story. I pray before i write and i let it come alive freely never changing words to hide a thought only that my thoughts are alowed to breath many times the story is simply my unashamed truth. I don't worry about how it sounds or weather the spelling is correct or it's written in perfect form all that can be fixed latter. Truth is i can't spell out of a papper bag and most everything i write has currection in fact that very reason is what kept me many years from writting i was ashamed because of it. Now i have gotten better but shame is nolonger a issue i leave it to trained perfesionials to do that for me lol. Thank You for your kind words and yes weather the story makes scence to the reader or just to me is never for me to deside it is only the raw thoughts that makes the story come alive.
