@Laura Nevius I applied for SSDI in Nov 2025. I received the letter in April stating they found me disabled starting 10/7/25. My payments started in May 2026. I’m 64 in November so I’ll be 65 in November 2027. I wondered if it start in Oct 2027 because my husband is just working past his 67 Birthday to cover me on his insurance. He could retire in August 2027 but is holding out until I can get Medicare. I don’t if I can get a policy to cover so he can retire sooner. We are so exhausted and broken with health and working for 40 Plus years. We both started working in our early teens. I even had to get school board’s permission to work . I feel ancient.
