1 contribution to Get Found On Google
Your Google listing gets interviewed every day. You never show up to it.
Here's a thought experiment. When someone taps your listing on Google Maps, they are interviewing you for a job. The job is their money. And they ask three questions, in order: 1. Are you real? (Do I see your face, your team, your actual space, or just stock photos and a logo?) 2. Are you good? (This is your reviews.) 3. Are you for me? (Do I get a sense of who you are, your voice, how you talk about your work?) Now look at your own profile with honest eyes. Most local businesses answer question 2 five times over and never touch 1 or 3. Reviews stacked, face nowhere. It's like acing one part of the interview and skipping the rest. The fix is smaller than you think. This week, post one 60-second video on your Google Business Profile: you, on camera, answering the single question your customers ask you most. Not polished. Just you, real. That one video starts answering questions 1 and 3 for every person who ever finds you. So here's my question: if a stranger tapped your listing tonight, which of the three questions would your profile actually answer?

love this framing. the are you real question is the one most businesses skip. i catch myself doing the same thing as a customer, if i cannot see actual photos of the place or the people behind it, i just move on to the next listing. reviews get you considered but the photos are what close it.
