Hi Everyone, Hope all is well. I understand not everyone could jump on our Thursday Coffee Talk session this week, so I wanted to share a comprehensive summary of what we covered to keep everyone aligned and moving forward. 1. The State of 2028 Recruiting: Timing is Everything In August, we saw seven client commitments. That number slowed to one in September, and so far in October, we are at zero. Do not panic. This is purely a timing issue. College coaches are currently managing two games a week and pushing hard toward the playoffs; their immediate focus is on their active roster, not recruiting. Do not stress about the quiet period. Instead, use this time to get highly organized for the November push. Ensure your highlight videos are edited, introductory letters are polished, and your social media and player profiles are fully updated. 2. New Website Launch Our newly designed website will be fully operational by the middle of next week. Everyone will receive free access, providing an upgraded platform to support your recruiting journey. 3. Community Engagement I am looking for more active input in our College Soccer Recruiting Hub on Skool. If you have questions, comments, or opinions, please post them. Your engagement not only gets your specific questions answered but supports and educates the entire community - https://www.skool.com/college-soccer-recruiting-hub-7734 4. The Strategic Pause: Gap Years & Reclassifying Taking a gap year or reclassifying is not a step backward; it is a strategic delay to ensure you arrive on campus as a finished product physically, technically, and academically. When speaking with coaches, frame this as a competitive advantage. You are offering them a mature freshman with an extra year of high-level training under your belt, which makes you a much lower-risk recruit in their eyes. The Reality of the Paperwork: If you reclassify and verbally commit before your new senior year, that commitment remains strictly non-binding for both you and the coach. As a reminder, the NCAA Division I Council eliminated the National Letter of Intent (NLI) program in October 2024, replacing it entirely with direct institutional financial aid and scholarship agreements.
