Learning to say no without feeling guilty... is that ever possible?
Living with MND hasn't given me all the answers, but one thing it has taught me is that energy isn't just physical. It's emotional too. I used to think saying yes made me a good person. I wanted to help, be reliable, and not let anyone down. Looking back, I wish I'd understood sooner that there's a difference between saying yes because you genuinely want to... and saying yes because you feel guilty saying no. Those two things can look the same from the outside, but they feel very different on the inside. These days, before I commit to something, I'll often check in with myself and ask "can I do this without resenting it later?". It's a simple question, but it's helped me become much more honest about what I realistically have the capacity for. 💬 What's one thing you've become better at saying "no" to over the years?
