Your value isn’t determined by your job title, accomplishments, circumstances, or what others think about you. God created each of us with a purpose and unique value to share with others. His grace is a gift we receive through faith, not something we could ever earn. Everything we have ultimately comes from Him. He is our provider and our Source. (Ephesians 2:8-9) Never allow someone else’s opinion to cause you to question the value God has already given you. Walk in your value and use it to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

Over 35 years ago, I worked at this UPS center in Summerville, SC on its very first day of operation while I was in college. Lots of great memories, but even more importantly, lessons that have stayed with me throughout my career, including the importance of doing business ethically, legally, and morally. Hard to believe they now handle more packages on a normal day than we did on our busiest days before Christmas back then!

One of the easiest ways to live as a Go-Giver is to make the conversation less about you and more about the value you bring to others. The next time someone asks, “What do you do?” try this simple shift. What could you say that would make them want to know more?
