I Was So Busy Surviving, I Forgot to Ask What I Wanted
Have you ever gotten so busy living your life that you forgot to ask yourself if it was the life you actually wanted? I did. For a long time, I thought I needed to find the right career. Realtor? Tried it. Interior design? Tried that too. Maybe I needed another class. Another direction. Another answer. But eventually I realized I wasn't just searching for the right career. I was trying to figure out what I wanted my LIFE to look like. There’s a difference between surviving your life and living it. When you're surviving, you're trying to get through today. When you're living, you start asking what you want tomorrow to look like. And sometimes that question is scary—especially when you've spent years taking care of everybody else, meeting expectations, and becoming who you thought you were supposed to be. My latest blog is about what happened when I finally slowed down long enough to ask myself what I wanted. I didn't figure it out overnight. I didn't have a master plan. I just started taking the next step. And somewhere along the way, I started trusting myself again. 🔥 So here's my question for you: If nobody else got a vote, what would YOU want your life to look like? Read my latest blog: “I Was So Busy Surviving, I Forgot to Ask What I Wanted.” Then come back and tell me your answer. ❤️ #PhoenixRising #PIVOT #Purpose #LifeTransitions #StartingAgain #TrustYourself #LiveOnPurpose

I Was So Busy Surviving, I Forgot to Ask What I Wanted
I found my purpose. I just didn't know what the heck to do with it. 😂
Seriously. I was sitting in church, angry with God and wondering why life couldn't just give me a little peace. Then I heard something that changed the direction of my life: Tell people they aren't nobody. Tell them they matter. Tell them they have a purpose. There it was. My purpose. Now what? 🤷‍♀️ I thought finding my purpose would somehow come with instructions. It didn't. So I started building. I took classes. Earned certifications. Found coaches and mentors. Created programs. Started writing. Started speaking. Developed PIVOT. And guess what? I'm STILL building. I'm still learning. I'm still growing. I'm still PIVOTing. That's when I realized something: 🔥 Purpose isn't always a destination. Sometimes it's a direction. You don't need to know exactly how everything is going to work out before you take the first step. My newest blog is: “I Didn't Find My Purpose. I Built My Way Toward It.” If you've been wondering what you're supposed to be doing with your life—or you know there's something more but haven't figured out what it looks like yet—this one is for you. 👉 Read the full blog at tamaraleapatrick.com And then I'd love for you to answer this: What are YOU building toward? 🔥 Rising isn't optional—it's who we are.

What if you don’t know what you want anymore?
I thought I knew. When I left the Army, I thought real estate was next. Then maybe interior design. Instead, somewhere along the way, I became a life coach, speaker, and author. For a long time, I think I believed changing direction meant I hadn't figured things out. Now I see it differently. Sometimes changing direction means you've changed. You've grown. You've learned something about yourself. And what you wanted five or ten years ago may not be what you want today. You are allowed to want something different. You are allowed to change direction. You are allowed to PIVOT. My newest blog asks a question that might be worth sitting with: If nobody else got a vote, what would you want the next chapter of your life to look like? 🔥 Rising isn't optional—it's who we are. 👣 How Do I Move Forward?
(with apologies to Elizabeth Barrett Browning) How do I move forward? Let me count the ways. I move when first I name the thing I fear, And cease to wait until the road seems clear, Or certainty illuminates my days. I move by questioning the old delays, The whispered doubts I once allowed too near; By choosing one small step, then persevering here, And trusting action more than perfect ways. I move when purpose calls me from my chair, When those I might yet serve outweigh my doubt, When "someday" yields to "now," and I begin. No map need show me everywhere or where The winding road may ultimately come out; I move by moving. That is how I win. — Stephen B. Henry

When did I stop making my own life a priority?
That question hit me hard this week. I spent the week helping other people. Some things were necessary. Some were commitments. Some happened because I felt obligated. And then Friday came. I realized I hadn't done anything for my business all week. My first reaction was to beat myself up. I started wondering how I could expect other people to take my business seriously when I wasn't protecting the time I needed to build it. Then I realized something: Their importance doesn't require my unimportance. I can love people AND have boundaries. I can help people AND protect my time. I can be there for someone else without automatically putting myself at the bottom of my own list. That's a pivot I need to make. Maybe you do too. When was the last time you asked yourself: "Where am I on my own priority list?" You matter. Your goals matter. Your purpose matters. And sometimes rising means finally deciding that you matter too. 💜 Rising isn't optional—it's who we are. #StillRising #PhoenixRising #PivotWithPurpose #RiseAnyway #YouMatterToo #Boundaries #PurposeOverObligation
