Roller Skate Buyers Guide📖
I'm creating a roller skate buyers guide and I'm curious what questions do you guys have around buying roller skates, equipment, parts, and accessories? It could be as simple as what is a good first pair of skates or as high-level as when do I know if it's the right time for me to upgrade to custom top-tier pair of roller skates. Lay it all out because I want this to be a comprehensive guide for beginners and advanced skaters alike.

Questions I had when buying my first pair of skates: 1. What wheels are best for outdoor? 2. What wheels are best for indoors? 3. Best street skate skates? 4. What are the best cheap beginner skates? 5. Are they true to size? 6. Is it best to size up, size down for particular brands/boots? 7. On average how long are they expected to last? 8. What tools are essential vs just nice to have? 9. How often should change and rotate your wheels?

What's in my skate bag
Cash or gift card from rink because one time their credit card machine wasn't working plus it saves their business on transaction fees. Loop earplugs. Lip balm. Hair ties. Velcro* (black rectangle). Socks (I always start a session with fresh dry socks not the ones I have already been wearing.) Skin saver wrist guards. Fan. Bandana. Bandaids. Alcohol wipes for emergency wheel cleaning. Tools. Cushions.

For the intermediate skaters, what do you wish you had known or started out doing when you were a beginner?
I wish I’d learned groundwork right off the bat for strengthening and stretching. Weight distribution and edges are also something that are so foundational and didn’t come online until recently. And lastly, how to use my arms!

How often do you guys roller skate and how often do you rotate your wheels??
