Insurance
What does everyone do for insurance? That's one of my biggest concerns. What's the best out there?
Start up plan
I've always been the kind of person who needs to put pen to paper and see things wrote out and in order, possibly some form of OCD I'm sure. But here is my 2025 plan for start up. It'll be a slow process but I am making sure that I am taking my time with this process so I can ensure it is done right, planning everything out and seeing I have all my bases covered. Advice and critiques welcome.

Seems like there's not much traffic here lately but I would like to change that. Not sure how serious others in this group about starting a shop in 2025 but for me it is a guarantee, which is why I joined this group. I have my methods of starting up and finding work but I am also taking into note the "Machine Shop Launch Pad" method. I have learned quickly here that a good website is key. The apollo.com route is also very nice. But for some reason I cannot create an account with my business email??? Can someone help with that? Anyways, looking forward to connecting to a few of you and talking shop. Thad Clardy Machine Works

I've acquired customers this way, I've also since finding Evan on youtube and learning about apollo have got a customer this way. Visit my website at bluegrassmachiningsolutions.com and give me some feedback! I'm always open to suggestions to improve. Hello, members. Thad Clardy here from Clardy Machine Works, LLC. I've been in this trade for 10 years now but I've always dreamed of starting my own shop but have been serious about putting it into action for about 7 months. I have been researching customers, quoting machines, making relationships within the industry; trying my best to learn and prepare as much as possible so my start up is smooth and successful. PracticalMachinist.com forums have been my best friend. Just gained my LLC last month and hoping to go into business late this year, early 2026. I am building a shop this summer and a CNC machine will follow, likely a Methods MV1000L. My main goal is to set myself apart from other start up shops and shops in my area. I've put extensive time into researching customers and ways to appeal to them. Trying to think outside the box. I came across the YouTube channel and it instantly struck my interested. Glad to be here and connect with others who wish to achieve the same as I do. I hope I can learn more tricks to the business sides of this industry and have help along the way. Cheers, Thad Clardy Clardy Machine Works
