Sherwin-Williams Prices Are Going Up
Hi Guys, Our Sherwin-Williams sales rep contacted us with the dreaded news...... prices are increasing in September. By how much? 7%–8%. What are we doing now? Stocking up..... We are going to place an order for 10–20 gallons of ceiling paint, trim paint, and maybe some wall paint. If you are going to be buying a lot of paint over the next few months, now may be a good time to stock up on the paints you use a lot. Also, here is last week's episode on the best trucks for painting contractors. At 39 minutes in @Travis Dixon, @Todd Plahs, @James Biernat are all mentioned.

LMAO!! I can’t J turn it into the dump. I’ve got tools I haven’t seen in years that I want back from that pile. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for the shout out. The last time my truck was empty was when I got rear ended and they had to straighten the frame. Mini vans is what I’ve been thinking of too but the shocks would have to be heavy duty. Thanks guys. Awesome!!

lol. I forwarded it to my sister. She loved that part about driving it to a dumpster.
Job Bid
Hello. I have a request to give an estimate to paint a 1900 sq ft interior of a house (2 story). Some wall need priming for nasty stuff. (It’s a rental). Ceilings, walls, trim, doors basically everything to paint. How much and how long for 1 person to paint? Thanks.

@Josh Vassar well. It’s funny because the guy wants me to do it because he knows my work. The problem is he and his brother own the house and it’s whether his brother wants to pay it. The guy also always throws in extras and expects it to be included. That’s why I always bid it hourly for this guys stuff.

@Katherine Berzanskis I have a sprayer. Even if I spray it’s best to back roll. The guy I’m doing it for thinks a sprayer is going to be 100 times faster without thinking of prep. The walls are dirty. The picture shows the lighter dirt. Also I’ve got 3 days in Sheetrock repairs. Every room has at least one if not 3 seams to repair. I told the guy at least 120 hours. Another painter didn’t even want to touch it because of all the dirt. I usually brush and roll. I told the guy around $7500 and Sheetrock repair is extra. The problem is it’s a shared rental and his brother thinks it shouldn’t cost more than $3000. Also they’re paying for materials.
Estimating.
So. This is a rental property I was asked to bid. Paint the whole interior of the house. Prime and paint stained wainscot and crown in family room and fix and paint the rest of the house. It’s very dirty too. Too many pictures needed to show what a mess.
Estimating.
Affordable but good kitchen cabinet paint
Is there a more affordable kitchen cabinet paint than sherwin william or benjamin moore? Cabinets have old oil based laint so will clean sand and oil based primer first. In youtube video I watched but there was indicated if sign up for goo crew there is information here. Very much appreciate any good experiences with alternate options.

What price range are you looking for? All paints have gone up in price and shelf price at SW or BM is higher for non contractors unless on sale.
DIY?
Some DIY do not prep correctly. (Some professionals?) Have to love the challenges of knotty pine.

@Jeremy Vassar I like the shellac. But with the price increase I’ve been using oil based primer more. I can use inside out outside. The smell is the bad part.
