Lean Construction Blog X Old Dawg Builder's Community Webinar
Hey yall! We have a webinar with Lean Construction Blog X Old Dawg Builders' Community this Thursday in place of our Old Dawgs Learning New Tricks. Here is a link to sign up: https://leanconstructionblog.com/webinar-36.html I plan to send out a calendar invite to everyone as soon as I get the presenter link from The Lean Construction Blog folks. My one question for the team is: how much construction experience do you have?! Please drop it in the comments so we can tout it to the attendees! We have to be well over 1,000 years of experience in this group! #sharingconstructionwisdom #grateful

33 years down... another 17 to go...
Better Together
Construction was never meant to be done alone. 🐶🚧 The best builders we know didn’t get better by keeping everything to themselves. They got better because somebody showed them. Somebody corrected them. Somebody challenged them. Somebody took five minutes and saved them five years. That’s the Old Dawg way. 🧠 Share what you know 👂 Listen to what others have lived 🤝 Help the next person get better 👷 Respect the trades 🔥 Build people, not just projects No corporate fluff. No gatekeeping. No “figure it out like I had to.” Just builders building builders. 🐾 Built by those who do, and shared for those who will! 👷♂️👷♀️🐾 #OldDawgs #BuildersBuildingBuilders #ConstructionLeadership #SharingConstructionWisdom #RespectTheTrades #HumanSideOfConstruction

Thank you Mike! I had to work on Sunday and it was awesome to not have to miss taking the time to reflect on the many blessing our Lord has bestowed upon us!
What do you want from the field Forman?
Calling all old and new dawgs. What are your expectations ( or demands ) from the trade partner foreman/supers I’m looking for specific personal and planning skills we could train on to elevate the pain on our projects. Exclude , know the plans Know Procore . We all know this area is a common topic.

Being a lean practitioner, I value a foreman that is open to new ideas. I am not saying they cannot bring their "I've been doing it this way for 30 years" (I want their expertise), but they need to be open to eliminating waste, Respect for People, Optimizing the Whole, Sequence & Flow, etc.
Old Dawg Takt Session
This was great! I have also added some slides directly from a Hoots training session that gives clear step-by-step instructions on how to build a Takt Plan. Let's do a follow-up in 60 days so we can do a bit of a show and tell with our progress. Shout out to Tom, Jason and Boone who, to nobody's surprise, had great input and wisdom to impart on the rest of us. Thanks to Denver for initiating this and bringing a real, concrete challenge to the Old Dawgs.

Sorry I could not stay on! Great topic! One piece of advice…the magic is in its simplicity. Do not get it so complicated it just becomes a colorful version of P6.
