Well, firstly we had some CRAZY storms this week, resulting in us losing a giant Pin Oak tree, but fortunately the only damage was to two other trees that lost branches as it fell. Sad to lose such a majestic tree though. Secondly, I had not one but two opportunities to practice my craft on myself this week. This is a biggie for me as usually I never have any health issues (which speaks volumes anyway!) but this week has been different. And I'm not saying it's related, but just interesting that it all started happening the day after I visited the Dr (wellness check-up,) and they convinced me to have the pneumonia vaccine. So, the day after the vaccine, my left eyelid starts swelling up and is sore to the touch - my left arm, at the injection site, was also very sore. The eye just kept getting worse over the next 2-3 days, but with a series of hot black tea bag compresses and dabbing it gently with German Chamomile and Cornflower hydrosols, alternating, by day 4 I was seeing it turn around. Thank goodness. THEN 2 nights ago, I'm just sitting down with a just brewed cup of tea and -wham! - I spill it over me! I'm sitting in an arm-chair so it goes all over my lap. It's a bit a of a struggle to get out of said chair so it takes me a minute to get up and go downstairs to where the lavender oil lives - in the kitchen. Delays are not good for burns. I slathered lavender oil on my inner thigh multiple times throughout the evening. It dulls the pain instantly, but I still have a blister forming, mainly due to the delay in getting to the oil and the fact that I couldn't figure out an easy way to run my thigh under freezing cold water first (??) HOWEVER, a day and a half later there is no pain and the next step will be to apply a burn salve once the blister has popped - of its own accord of course. Phew! I am SO thankful I have this little arsenal at home.🥰
