BACK TO BASICS: GAMES, TRICKS & A FREE-SHAPING SHOWDOWN 🐶🏆
Today’s live was all about getting back to the foundations 🐶 Matt and I reinforced a few of our favourite games, tricks and practical training tips. As much as we all love getting ahead of ourselves and jumping into the interesting stuff, real progress comes from consistently practising the basics. We finished with a little free-shaping competition that got pretty interesting 😂 Watch the replay to see what happened, then let us know your biggest takeaway in the comments!

@Jennifer Mcfarlane I definitely need to be more consistent with my engagement work with Boogie, when I do we can walkk the blue mile passing other dogs mo problem but when I don’t it’s a sh** show……consistency is the definitely key!!😁
Question for the Community?
Would anyone be keen on doing a five minute interview with me I can use for content and advertising? Please let me know if I can film!🎥 But also if the spotlights not for you please answer these questions below: 1. What was life like with your Dog before Walkys 2. What was the Trigger that made you decide to get help? 3. What’s your fav thing about walkys? 4. What’s life like with your Dog now?

Before Walkys…..chaos. Boogie would bark at me constantly, nipping me when I would sit down and generally making me miserable. The trigger was finding myself getting a little fearful of her as she started growing and not wanting to go home My favourite thing is being able to understand the training methods so I can follow them at home and being able to ask questions freely, anytime and without judgement Now…. I can’t imagine life without Boogie….she’s not perfect but that’s OK. and walking a well behaved dog is one of life’s simple pleasures.
🎥 Calm Collective – Week Two Recording
Today’s live was about the missing link most owners never get shown. Place training teaches your dog how to settle. This session shows you how calm holds when you move, cook, open doors, and live your life. In this recording we covered: - Why dogs break calm after place training - What “follow-through” actually means (without force or frustration) - How guidance creates clarity, not shutdown - How to stop repeating yourself and start seeing consistency This isn’t about controlling your dog. It’s about removing confusion so your dog can relax properly. 👇 While you’re watching the replay, drop a comment below: - What clicked for you? - Or where does calm break down most in your home right now? If you’ve got questions after watching, post them here. That’s what this space is for. Replay below.

Thanks Nath and Lex, that was really helpful, it’s an issue I’ve been having with Boogie lately. She’s been barking at me and being being a bit mouthy, I put her on place and sometimes she’ll stay but other times she off as soon as I turn my back or continues to bark while on place. I wasn’t sure what to do and now I realise I was probably rewarding negative behaviour 🤦‍♀️
How hot was Saturday!! ☀️
Hope everyone survived the extreme heatwave on Saturday. That one was a proper test for both humans and dogs. I’d love to hear how you went. What worked, what didn’t, and whether anything popped up behaviour-wise once the temperature climbed. Heat has a funny way of exposing gaps in structure and calm. Also, don’t forget to jump onto the live tomorrow for our second edition of The Calm Collective. We’ll be building on last week and tightening the screws on real-world calm under pressure. As always, bring any questions you’ve got so we can make sure you’re covered. If you’re thinking it, chances are everyone else is too. Looking forward to it.

Boogie layed down all day in front of the fan, at it’s peak she seemed pretty uncomfortable so we wiped her down with a wet towel and it seemed to help a little .
