Website Complete!
Hey everyone, my website is now live: https://tracksideaisystems.com I'm building Trackside AI Systems, an AI text-message assistant for automotive service shops (detailing, tint, wraps, PPF). It answers leads, handles pricing and availability questions, and moves people toward booking, so shops stop losing customers when staff are busy. I built the site with Claude Code, React, Tailwind and Motion, and it's hosted on Cloudflare Pages. I'm a high school senior working on this alongside school. I'm open to any tips, especially on: - Clarity: does it explain what Trackside does within a few seconds? - Design and mobile experience - Anything that feels confusing or unconvincing to a shop owner If you've landed a first client for a service business, I'd love to hear how you found them and what worked in outreach. Thanks in advance. Be honest, I can take it.

@Alexandre Ibrahim Thanks, I appreciate that, and congrats on signing your first client! That's the hard part. I'm still in testing and want it working flawlessly before I put it in front of a real shop, so I'm not selling yet. How did you land yours? Cold outreach, a referral, something else? Happy to chat. I'll send you a DM.

love the design of the ui. i think you definitely have room for improvement, a dashboard and home page/ tracker would go great. feels to clunky right now. love it though man keep going
name change or not?
Quick gut check on a business name. Would love your honest opinions. I'm launching Trackside AI Systems, an AI text-message assistant for auto detailing, tint, wrap and PPF shops. It answers customers instantly, handles pricing and availability questions, follows up, and books appointments so shops stop losing jobs to missed texts. Why I like the name: - Easy to say, easy to spell, easy to remember - It fits car and racing culture, which is exactly my audience - It suggests speed and precision, which is what the product is about - I already have the domain, the website, and my compliance paperwork set up under it - Searching the exact phrase "Trackside AI Systems" doesn't show any other business using it The one downside: there's another company called Trackside Systems. They sell timing, ticketing and WiFi technology to motorsport race tracks. Different customers than mine, and as far as I can tell it's a small company, but the names are very close and I can't decide if that will actually be a problem. Two questions: 1. Would the similar name bother you, or would you not think twice about it? 2. If you were in my position, would you keep the name or change it before getting a first customer? I haven't launched yet, so changing now is cheap. Changing later is not. Thanks in advance.
AI Lead automation recommendations?
Hey, I’m Will, a high school senior building an automation business called Trackside AI Systems, focused on automotive service businesses. I’m working on an SMS system that responds to customer inquiries, answers common questions, helps with scheduling, and logs conversations and leads in Google Sheets. The goal is to help shops respond faster and spend less time going back and forth with customers. I’m building it with Twilio, Google Apps Script, and Cloudflare Workers. I’ve gotten inbound/outbound messaging and logging working, and I’m testing different customer responses to make it reliable before taking on my first client. For anyone who’s built or sold something similar, I’d appreciate advice on: - What should I prioritize before offering it to a real business? - How would you approach landing and pricing the first client? - What mistakes should I avoid, especially with reliability and ongoing support? - Anything i should change? Happy to hear honest feedback on the idea or my setup. Thanks!

@Mason Grant Thanks, I’d appreciate the feedback! What are the first few things you’d look at in my setup? I’m especially interested in catching failed messages and making sure the shop owner can take over a conversation when needed. Happy to explain how the workflow works.

@Usman Ali Appreciate it! I’d definitely consider a small pilot with one shop. Tracking response time and booked jobs sounds like a good way to see whether it’s actually helping. How long would you run the pilot, and would you charge a small fee or do it free for the first client?
