TCA frosting is a useful indicator of protein coagulation and treatment depth, but visible frosting is not required for every successful TCA peel. The aim is to achieve the endpoint appropriate to the peel being performed — not to create the strongest possible frost.

Medical eligibility is not the same thing as aesthetic suitability. The nurse brings valuable clinical knowledge to aesthetics. The new skill is learning to use that knowledge alongside careful observation of: Barrier • Sebum • Texture • Inflammation • Vascularity • Pigment • Scarring • Lesions and then turning those observations into a rational treatment plan. The goal is not to make the nurse less clinical and teach her where clinical nursing assessment ends and aesthetic skin-analysis reasoning begins — and how the two work together.
