Founders Guild/ADHD Nation Relaunch Party on Tues!
ICYMI in @Bill Widmer's announcement, these two handsome fellas are hosting a zoom party next Tuesday at 9am ET https://www.skool.com/adhd-entrepreneurs-playground-1470/calendar?eid=32d221f4dac649a5b595a78b6e813190 And, I changed the community name to ADHD nation - - to be more descriptive, and mirrors my sobriety community, Rewired Nation (Bill's good w/it). PLEASE add to your calendars now - - RSVP's would help so we know how much food & drink to order. JK JK but will be fun, fun, fun - - including Bill's Pee-Wee Herman impression! And I might throw out some stand-up comedy material on ADHD (I've got a ton, including a real doozy). We'll also talk about what Bill did on here in the past and my (many) ideas for the future - - would love feedback (and ideas). Feel free to comment if coming and/or have thoughts. And PLEASE spread the word to others in the community, since many may not have their notifications on - - I'm working on mass contacting everyone but could use the help. To adjust notifications (hopefully turn all on for now -- you can also follow me) go to settings on bottom right under the logo/description - - you'll also find a community invite link there to send to everyone you know 🥳. See you then! (additional Zoom schedule coming - - keep checking back, I hope to post daily).. - Cap

Let's Give a Warm Welcome to Our New Owner . . . Me!
"My friend's got lots of problems, I wish drinking was one of them so she could join us." When I heard a women say that in my sobriety community my immediate thought was, "Everyone needs/deserves a recovery community." —------------------- I'm Brian "Cappy" Cappello -- Boston-based, 50% Italian, 99% Irish (should really go by Sully) - - chronic drinker for 25 years, often for productivity (which worked until it didn't). For example I always needed a bottle of wine to clean the house - - turns out disinfectant works much better. Twelve years ago I got sober for 3.5 years on my own, then foolishly tried drinking "normally" ONE more time. The good news was I could, the bad news, not for long. Yet it took almost 6 years to get back to a year sober. Now coming up on 2.5 years (thanks to 4 years in community), going on infinity. So how do you know I'm sober, and loving it? And that I LOVE cold showers? And that I (strive to) get up at 5am?? Because I'll tell you, often. The same goes with ADHD (henceforth ADD for short). I am very proud of those first 3 things, and will be of ADD when I solve this thing, thanks to taking over this community. I converted sobriety to a superpower by doing the work and I plan to convert ADD from an excuse to a superpower the same way (my mother will be so relieved). The first thing I need to remind myself (for the 1000th time) is I can't do it alone; every time (blue moon) I have a productive day on my own I think I can repeat it w/out systems, only to then struggle for a month straight. Sometimes I think I'd rather have to get sober again than overcome ADD. At its core, sobriety is achieved (and the brain starts to rewire) simply by not drinking. A buddy once shared while folding his arms and said, "Oh look, I'm beating alcoholism right now!"

The Founders Guild was SOLD! 🤯
This community started at a coffee shop in Austin, with 4 people meeting up to co-work and help each other focus. Over time, that in-person event grew to nearly 30 people a week... and then moved here, online, to Skool. We're now 1,100 members strong, from all over the world. That still blows my mind. But as you know, it got quiet. Not because I stopped caring. Because I went back to running my SEO business full-time and I couldn't give this place the energy it deserves. (Which is, let's be honest, an extremely ADHD thing to do. Build something you love, then watch it drift because you overcommitted somewhere else.) So I had two options. Let it keep drifting, or find someone who can actually show up for it. I want you to meet your new guild master: @Brian Cappy Cappello. He just purchased The Founders Guild and will be taking charge here! He's been a member for a while now, so some of you already know him. He actually interviewed me on his podcast! But if you don't know him yet, here's a bit about him: He's one of us. He has ADHD. He's in recovery; he's open about it, and he runs live support calls in the sobriety world where showing up consistently for people is the entire job. He's not coming in here to sell you a system for beating your ADHD. He's coming in as someone still figuring it out, who wants to build the room where we figure it out together. Which is exactly what this was when we started at that coffee shop two years ago. Here's what's changing: Brian's running it, and he's bringing back regular live calls. Those were always the best part of this place. What's not changing: the focus stays on ADHD and neurodivergent founders. And I'm not going anywhere. I'm staying in here as a member, still posting, still in the comments. Two things I'd ask of you: 1. Say hi to Brian in the comments, and tell him one thing you'd want from this community if it were firing on all cylinders. He's reading every single one.
Introduction
I'm Thi, but I am known as Jane. I had been working as a primary and high school teacher in NSW schools in Australia for the last 13 years. Honestly, teaching was never my choice. Maybe not teaching in school, anyway. I'm very slow to start anything and struggle to follow through, then I get mad at myself, Spiral and go full circle. I get over that "poor me" phase then pick myself up. My greatest passion is crocheting and other crafts. My biggest obstacle is "what should I do, how do I get myself out there? Why are other businesses doing so well and I can't even post on Instagram and have two people actually see what I've posted?" I also ramble on a lot and have sleep Procrastination and all things associated with ADHD. I also have autism. Late diagnoses but it made so much sense. I have been crocheting for a little over 20 years, knitting not so much but I am very skilled. I love to learn to sew, I don't know as much as I think I do but still like to think I'm pretty good. I want to turn my crafts into a business. I'm thinking something along the lines of creating online courses but I am terrified of the content. Yes I am a teacher but coming up with something that is uniquely me is somewhat challenging. When someone asks me Why, I shut down and think I'm not good enough and that nobody would want to buy anything from me, so I must sell cheaply otherwise nobody would buy from me. Who am I? Why should people pay me? I have hoarded lots of Cricut Maker materials but do nothing with them because I don't know what to do with them. I want to sew bags but fabric and material is so expensive. I'm listening to myself making excuses then beat myself up. How do you entrepreneurs start? How did you start? I have thousands of ideas yet nothing comes to light because I'm not taking any action and I sign up for thousands of courses and take none because I've paid 6 figures cumulatively and feel overwhelmed. Now I don't know where to start. Yes, I have money mindset issues as well as neurodivergent brain that does not shut up, but even being aware of that is all great, now what? I feel I've wasted 40 years of my lifetime not living my passion, I only get government support, I lost my job 5 months ago because of my emotional dysregulation (year 7 kids bullying me and not letting me teach, I could not handle it, I bash my head against the heavy sliding glass door, break down on my knees, screaming and bawling my eyes, telling at them. That was the last time I had worked in the school which I once sat in as a student. Sorry for rambling on. Can anyone feel my pain? Please tell me that things do get better and that I won't be stuck in a vicious cycle of sellers who do nothing but upsell. I feel so vulnerable and so hopeless. I am looking for support from a Skool who genuinely understands and wants to support people. I have joined countless groups then get bored because the the first thing I see is the padlock after the first Module ... How am I supposed to trust or experience the change and support I desperately need without having to pay something that I'll never end up engaging in, anyway? What I really appreciate about this Skool's model is that at least you get chances to earn upgrades instead of paying a fortune for more programs I know I will never follow through with. BTW I'm sorry if I offended anyone regarding my upselling comment. I guess I waste so much money then end up doing nothing because I am paralysed and confused, no doubt. However, I wish to release this expectation and negative thinking. This Skool feels genuine, somehow. I think this upgrade model indicates the trainers' understanding and compassion for people with ADHD. I want to be the first in my family who breaks the cycle of the typical work career and actually enjoy sharing my creativity and making money from it. Family never believed in me so I had the same thinking about myself. I am yet to find a genuine Skool that actually cares and understands ADHD not just all about profit. Perhaps this is the first one. Sorry for my essay... I'm done. Thank you for keeping up with me if you made it to the end of this long-winded introduction. I don't often get a chance to be heard in my life. I wish everyone all the best in their journey. We got your back!
