When Your AI Tool Goes Down: Don’t Let Your Business Go Down With It
Today, August 13, 2026, Anthropic reported a major partial outage affecting Claude.ai, the Claude API, Claude Code, and Claude Cowork. The incident began at 10:33 a.m. ET and was still under investigation around noon. For real estate professionals, this is a useful reminder: never build an important workflow around only one AI provider. A simple backup plan: ✅ Save your best prompts, client-safe templates, and source material locally ✅ Keep an approved alternative AI tool available for urgent work ✅ If a request fails, check before submitting it again—repeated submissions can create duplicate emails, documents, or actions ✅ After service returns, test it with a harmless public-information prompt before resuming client or time-sensitive work ✅ Always review AI output, especially when switching tools This isn’t a reason to panic or stop using AI. It’s a reason to build smarter systems that keep working when one service has a bad day.
