The Knowledge You’ve Stopped Noticing
The longer you have done something, the more likely you are to underestimate what you know. Your course idea may be hiding inside questions people already ask you. Think about the last six months: What have colleagues asked you to explain? What mistakes do you regularly help people correct? What can you now do easily that once felt confusing? What result have you helped somebody else achieve? Your expertise does not need to be revolutionary. It needs to help the right person take the next step. Friday win thread — what did you ship, finish, or figure out this week?
It's Friday, so let's do this properly: what's your win from this week? It does not have to be big. "Finished my first module outline," "recorded my first lesson without redoing it five times," "finally picked my course topic," "got my first sign-up" — all of it counts. Progress in course creation is mostly a string of unglamorous small wins, and this is the place to actually say them out loud instead of letting them go unnoticed. I'll say it because it's true and worth repeating: after 20+ years teaching and helping people ship 40,000+ course enrollments across 100,000+ students, the pattern is always the same — the people who finish are the ones who keep showing up on weeks like this one, not the ones waiting to feel "ready."
