I have a few questions after hearing about the recent DistroKid majority acquisition. I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences from the community.
Now that DistroKid has a new majority owner, do you think anything will actually change for artists, or is this just a business investment?
Do you expect DistroKid’s subscription prices or paid add-ons to increase in the near future because of this deal?
Do you think independent artists should start considering a backup distributor (such as TuneCore or Too Lost), or is it too early to worry?
If you were releasing music every week, would you continue using DistroKid with confidence after this news? Why or why not?
Thanks in advance! I’m looking forward to hearing your perspectives.
