I've played around in Suno Studio before for some minor edits, but I've never played too much with the instruments. So I am not exactly sure if this is new.
Anyway, I downloaded some of the stems of a song using the new Advanced feature. I uploaded the main vocals into Suno Studio and I was trying to figure out how to remix it per se. I decided to try an acoustic version.
I highlighted the vocals with another spot open thinking they'd place the acoustic guitar in the "acoustic guitar" spot. Instead, it took my main vocals and transformed them into the acoustic guitar. It didn't retain my vocals, and even added some "oh's" and such at the end, but I'm wondering now how this might sound when I pair the vocals to it.
Anyway, I thought that was cool. I didn't know something like that could be done! So I'm assuming I can possibly do this for some of the other instruments too. Like, if I want a completely new drum that sort of mirrors what I had before, I can upload that separately, highlight it, and maybe add it to the acoustic guitar. I'm trying that now to see if it will work without it then trying to do the same thing as it did with the backing vocals.
I'm going to play with this and see how it might work. Could be a useful albeit time consuming way to make remixes or alternate versions of a song.
UPDATE: It added drums to the acoustic guitar! Interesting. The way I'd see this working is instead of starting with the vocals, start with the other instruments and build around it, maybe.
