Brother, how much longer are you going to keep trying to earn what Christ has already given you? You tell yourself you will finally feel like enough when the business grows. When the bills are paid. When your body is stronger. When your marriage improves. When your family respects you. When other men recognize what you bring to the table. So you keep pushing. You work harder. Set another goal. Carry more responsibility. Hide another struggle. But even when you accomplish something, that feeling does not last. There is always another mountain. Another number. Another reason you have not done enough. Colossians 2 speaks directly into that pressure: “In Christ you have been brought to fullness.” You are already complete in Christ. Your accomplishments do not define you. Your failures do not own you. Your past does not disqualify you. The opinions of other people do not determine your worth. Christ defines you. That does not mean you stop pursuing growth. It means you stop demanding that growth prove you are worthy. You can become stronger without making strength your identity. You can provide for your family without measuring your worth by your bank account. You can lead without needing everyone’s approval. You can admit that you are struggling without believing that it makes you weak. You can faithfully pursue everything God has entrusted to you because you already know who you belong to. You pursue from your identity, not for your identity. That truth is at the heart of Bagged and Tagged: Helping men surrender their baggage to Christ and faithfully pursue the life God has entrusted to them. Because you were never meant to carry the shame, addiction, anger, regret, isolation, and pressure alone. Jesus did not go to the cross so you could spend the rest of your life trying to prove your worth. He went to the cross to free you from that burden. Your goals matter, but they cannot complete you. Your discipline can strengthen you, but it cannot save you. Your past may explain some of your wounds, but it does not get to name you.
