Saturday Sewing Sickness 😆 I often wake up early on Saturday mornings (who am I kidding, I wake up early EVERY DAY 🤭) hoping to sew. For me, Saturdays have a "sewing" feel and I can often find a gap for a project somewhere in the day. BUT there's another thing that happens. Some weekends I feel like I'm spinning and I just can't decide WHAT to work on. I inevitably end up going back and forth between patterns, fabric, tutorials...and doing nothing 😅 and annoyed by it. To remedy this I started keeping a running To-Sew list. Doesn't it seem like all your sewing ideas hit you when you're not even close to the machine? 🧐 My to-sew list lives in my handbag notebook, I'm a pen🖊 and paper 📃 person. (Which reminds me I should sew a notebook cover ☺️) Everything I think of, even small ideas, go in there: • Child-sized oven mitts for my girls • A book sleeve or bag for someone undergoing chemo, as she reads a lot to pass the time • My scatter cushion covers seriously need an update! • Homeschool supplies 😂 Bean bags, fabric shapes, a classroom banner etc • Teacher gifts for year end. November always sneaks up on me! • My older two need Bible bags for church • My 4 year old would like some doll accessories • I'd love new (pretty!) dish cloths and matching potholders • We have outgrown our picnic blanket and need a larger one with a bag or handle • A wet bag for swimming stuff, swimming season starts this Tuesday • Swimming ponchos (made from towels) • Baby sun hat Etc... 😆 It's a LONG list. That's not even the clothing list 🤪 But it's a starting point. It's easy to fall into a decision fatigue spiral. Having a to-sew list can help you decide and you don't end up annoyed that you spent your sewing time scrolling for inspiration 😊 Do you keep a to-sew list? Anything on it you'd like to make soon?
