Welcome to the Better Birders Community! If you're here, then you are probably serious about becoming a better birder! Introduce yourself here including where you are from. Lets get better together! ~Caleb
Not to hog the platform. https://www.allaboutbirds.org/news/hummingbirds-flight-beauty-costa-anna-california/. This is a really beautiful short video about hummingbirds from the Cornell Lab all about birds. The slow motion helps understand how these little beings fly differently than other birs. Hope you enjoy it. Happy Monday.
I've been in the UK for a few weeks recently, so lots of amazing lifers including Eurasian Bittern, European Stonechat, Purple Sandpiper, and many more! What's been stopping by near you?
We are looking into a birding north east Canada and the St Lawerence River. Has anyone spent anytime birding in this area? Do you have recommendations on guides or tour companies that you like? Thank you. We are planning for 2028 and are open to suggestions of time of year depending on migration though puffins are on my list to see. Thank you in advance.
What’s your go to for winter feeders? We have song birds year round. House finches, woodpeckers both the downy and acorn. We also have dark eyed juncos and brown backed chickadees. Is there different food for the colder, rainy season that you use?
