Lattafa's Emeer
Another 1st wearing from my latest shipment. Today it's Emeer from Lattafa.
1st off, we need to talk about the packaging... there's freakin' lights in the box! Can't say I've seen that trick before. The bottle itself may have put a toe over the line between gaudy and elegant, but it's not atrocious.
The juice is an EDP that opens very citrus and ambroxan heavy. Lemon, juniper and bergamot punch you in the nose right away, and cardamom is present through the entire life of the scent. As it dries down, the tea and woods come out, and the white tea note is particularly pronounced.
For a citrus/woods freshie, this is very strong. Projection, sillage and longevity are all well above average.
It's rumored to be an excellent clone of Clive Christian's Town and Country, but I've never tried the OG, so no comment from me on the similarities or differences.
My 1st impression is that I like it, but anything this does, Terre d'Hermès does better. They smell very different: the lemon/bergamot/woods of Emeer vs the grapefruit/orange/mineral of TdH. I just happen to enjoy grapefruit scents much more than lemon. So for a long-lasting, unique citrus frag, I'd pick Terre d'Hermès 9 times out of 10... fortunately, I love variety!
As for seasons and occasions, anytime you'd reach for Terre d'Hermès, you could grab this instead. Good for all 4 seasons and almost every occasion... although I wouldn't want to wear it jogging, or anytime I'm sweating and breathing deep.
Definitely a unique citrus powerhouse that may not be for everyone.
7/10 and may get better with age
