Terre d'Hermès EDT
The 2nd bottle I bought while on vacation perfume shopping was Terre d'Hermès EDT.
I took my 17 yr old niece to Sephora and Louis Vuitton that day and we each sampled about 100 frags.
At the end of the day we each had a long list of "really nice, maybe I'll buy it" and 1 "I need this now" frag.
Her must-have fragrance was the brand new 2026 JPG Divine Couture, and mine was the 20 yr old Terre d'Hermès EDT.
(Interestingly my niece agreed with me that this was the best men's scent I tested that day too)
So what can I say about this classic masterpiece that others haven't said better... the grapefruit note is not talked about enough. I absolutely love grapefruit. The way it complements the orange note is perfection.
That bright citrus top floats above the woody, clean, mineral scent that this frag is known for. This is the most vetiver-heavy frag in my collection. It's very clean and woodsy.
For an EDT this thing punches way above its weight class. It projects, and lasts way longer than you'd expect.
If you're into sweet frags and chasing compliments, this isn't for you. If you're into classy, clean, and unique, this is worth a try.
... and after my niece and I sampled frags for a day, I bought our top picks at an online discounter. Saved my niece $80 on her bottle, and it was my lucky day — Terre d'Hermès EDT 50ml was on sale. The site advertised 73% off, but doing the math against real retail price ($124.50 CAD), it worked out closer to 50% off — still a great deal at $1.28/ml. Still cheaper per-ml than buying the 100ml would've been that day.
Anyway, I reinvested that savings into a couple new (to me) Middle Eastern frags... I'll tell ya all about them another day.
