Word of the Week: SURRENDER
I first wrote about this word back in 2023. And here I am again — because I need it more than ever right now. That tells you something about surrender. It is not a one-time thing. It is a practice. And some seasons demand it more than others. This has been one of the fullest weeks of my life. New systems to build at Life Time for our growing nutrition and metabolics department. A new leadership role. Collaborative work with a colleague in telehealth. Multiple talks on Thursday. An event. Bouncing from one thing to the next — heart rate elevated, anxiety rising, a constant sense of urgency that never quite settled. I got home late. Ate late. Slept terribly. Started all over the next day. Worked Saturday. And here I am right now — still working — writing this. The grind is real. The hustle is real. I have always been this way. And I know — from deep experience — that the work I put in now creates ease later. Systems reduce questions. Structure creates flow. I believe in the grind. But here is what I also know: When I am left entirely on my own — I overwork. I undersleep. I under-hydrate. I might even get cramps because I am not taking care of myself. The very things I teach every day are the first things to go when I am running at full speed. That is not a productivity problem. That is a surrender problem. I first introduced this concept to a client back in 1998. They came to me seeking guidance. They paid for my services. And yet — week after week — they resisted every recommendation. Resisted every change. It was clear they were not ready to surrender and commit to the process. I remember they gifted me a hat with the words "Just Surrender" written on it. They laughed. It did not change their behavior. But the concept stuck with me. And over the years I have come to understand that surrender is not weakness. It is not giving up. It is not passivity. Surrender is the act of releasing resistance — and allowing something better to come in. Here is where it gets personal for me this week:

🟢 THRIVE THURSDAY LIVE — Tomorrow at 4PM Topic: Not All Collagen Is Created Equal
Join on Zoom: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/5212548446?pwd=OHk3TFZKa1JydE1abm80QVA1K0hZdz09 Free Education Coaching Call for All. Quick question before tomorrow's call. Are you taking collagen? Or thinking about it? If you are — I need you on this call tomorrow. Because there is a very good chance you are either taking the wrong product for your goals, or not taking it at the right time, or spending money on something that cannot do what you think it is doing. And if you are not taking collagen yet — this call will show you exactly why you should be, and what to look for when you do. Here is a preview of what we are covering tomorrow at 4PM: The two completely different categories of collagen products — and why most people treat them as interchangeable when they are absolutely not. This is the #1 reason people say "collagen didn't work for me." What the science actually says about skin — wrinkles, elasticity, tightening, firmness — and the specific peptide that is clinically proven to stimulate the skin cells responsible for producing collagen and elastin. With the actual clinical numbers. Hair loss and thinning — a big topic and one that hits close to home for a lot of people in this community. We are going to talk about the two different ingredients that work on hair through completely different pathways and why you may need both. The Life Time collagen products — I am going to be very specific about which one is the best starting point for skin, hair, and nails, what it contains, and why it is different from just mixing a collagen powder into your coffee. The full lineup — Nutridyn, Designs for Health, Life Time, Vital Proteins, Orgain — compared side by side with real pricing so you can see exactly what you are getting and what you are not. 8 lifestyle strategies that can double the effectiveness of any collagen supplement — including one timing tip around your workouts that most people have never heard of.
