I was talking with Hayden today and we were sharing about our sports and physiques in high school and I looked back at some of the pictures I took from then and compared them to now and holy cow. I didn’t realize the actual toll my actions have taken on my body. I knew where I had brought myself to mentally and spiritually but physically? I wonder where I’d be right now if I’d have picked up the gym everyday instead of substances. It hurts. Just wanted to share because I know I’m not the only one and I have an encouragement for everyone from scripture. I can’t take the last verse out of context, but the principle applies the same. 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 [18] Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body. [19] Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, [20] for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body. I have not glorified God with my body in a long time. And seeing where I’ve stood when I have been vs. when I haven’t been is eye opening. Not that I was jacked before hahah, but I had a much better muscle to fat ratio.
