Thoughts
How often does what we perceive others to think about us make us change our course of action, whether it’s appropriate for the situation or whether we have conflicting views? Often, when I was in the corporate environment, I saw a lot of people who were “yes men, women”. I believe that there was a certain element of just making sure that they had a job tomorrow and so leadership would take advantage of that. I guess it was effective because many of them retired from there or are still working and I am not but I could not find any way to compromise my beliefs just to outlast someone who, ultimately, lost their race to climb the corporate ladder.
I ask this question because I want the next generation to have the same scruples and find the right paths in order to be able to sleep at night knowing that they have their conscience clear.
As they are entering the workforce and learning how to manage their own lives, I just want them to have a good memory of the path that they are on and be able to live with a clear conscience always.
