Your audience needs a map, not your manuscript
A strong presentation does not require memorizing every word. It requires knowing where you are taking your audience.
Before you build your slides or rehearse your delivery, identify these three things:
• The headline: What is the main point?
• The path: What two or three ideas help them understand it?
• The landing: What should they remember, decide, or do next?
When you know your map, you can recover more easily if you lose a word, skip a slide, or get interrupted. You are not trying to recite. You are guiding people somewhere.
Practice: Explain something you know well in 60 seconds using a headline, two supporting points, and one clear ending.
Which part is hardest for you, starting clearly, organizing the middle, or ending without trailing off?
