CLEAR Practice Lab is happening in 3 days
A 30-second practice: say it once 💬
Do you start answering, then stop to correct yourself before your thought has even landed? Today, try a small practice from CLEAR: 1. Feel your feet on the floor and release your shoulders. 2. Remind yourself, “I can take my time.” 3. Answer this out loud in one or two sentences: “What is something you enjoy doing, and why?” 4. Say it once. Pause before adding anything or starting over. Notice the urge to edit, rush, or explain more. You do not have to fix everything in this one rep. Your job is to observe yourself. 💛 If you try it, share one thing you noticed. A short answer is welcome, especially if you are new here!

Your audience needs a map, not your manuscript
A strong presentation does not require memorizing every word. It requires knowing where you are taking your audience. Before you build your slides or rehearse your delivery, identify these three things: • The headline: What is the main point? • The path: What two or three ideas help them understand it? • The landing: What should they remember, decide, or do next? When you know your map, you can recover more easily if you lose a word, skip a slide, or get interrupted. You are not trying to recite. You are guiding people somewhere. Practice: Explain something you know well in 60 seconds using a headline, two supporting points, and one clear ending. Which part is hardest for you, starting clearly, organizing the middle, or ending without trailing off?
October in CLEAR Practice Lab: Presentations 🎤
This October, CLEAR Practice Lab is focused on PRESENTATIONS. We’re building the regulation, structure, delivery, and confidence to present clearly without freezing, rushing, rambling, or losing your authentic voice. Here’s how the month will flow: Week 1: Regulate + Riff We begin with the nervous system, then practice speaking on a topic with minimal preparation using a simple structure: headline, beginning, middle, and ending. Week 2: Organize It We’ll strengthen your headline, key ideas, flow, and what you want your audience to remember. Week 3: Deliver It We’ll practice pacing, pauses, vocal emphasis, eye contact, body language, filler words, transitions, and connection. Week 4: Present With Authority You’ll bring it all together through live presentation practice, coaching, feedback, adjustment, and another rep. This is not four weeks of lectures. You will actually speak, practice, receive coaching, make adjustments, and practice again. That’s what the Lab is for. 🎯 Do you have a presentation, pitch, training, talk, meeting, or something else coming up that you want to practice this month? Comment and tell me what you’re preparing for. I’m also considering offering a separate live Presentation Intensive for people who want additional presentation practice and coaching. If that’s something you’d be interested in, let me know in the comments.

People-Pleasing Can Feel Like Protection
I’m a recovering people pleaser. People-pleasing is not God’s will for us, but for many of us, it developed as a trauma response, a way to protect ourselves after what we experienced in the past. Healing can look like choosing to do only what you genuinely want to do, what you are able to do, or what God has instructed you to do. You do not have to manage everyone’s feelings or protect yourself by saying yes to everything. Trust God to protect you when you honor your capacity, your boundaries, and His direction. Where are you learning to stop people-pleasing?
What would you say?
You’re in a work meeting. Someone suggests handling a project in a way you disagree with, then turns to you and asks, “What do you think?” You feel yourself start to freeze. What would you actually say? Write your response in the comments. Use words that sound like you.
