GPT-Live + Projects: is anyone else noticing this?
Are you aware of this with GPT-Live and Projects?
I’ve been Using GPT-Live daily to shape & complete so many tasks. The live conversation flow is getting closer to what people keep talking about here: voice as the interface of the future.
But there’s one workflow gap that feels surprisingly clunky right now.
You can start voice chats around Projects, and you can add files, folders, and other context into the voice conversation. But in practice, it still feels like the voice session becomes its own new conversation instead of just running inside the existing Project thread you were already working in.
That means it may not automatically carry the same project-specific files, custom instructions, and prior context the way a normal Project chat does. So instead of simply switching an existing Project conversation into voice, you end up rebuilding context or starting a parallel conversation.
That’s not a dealbreaker, but it does feel like friction in exactly the place where voice should make things smoother.
Given how much we’ve talked in here about voice becoming the future interface for working with agents, I’m curious if anyone else has noticed this. My hope is that GPT-Live eventually becomes a true mode inside an existing Project chat, not a separate voice-first lane next to it.
I still think the direction is right. I just hope this part changes, because Project-native voice would be a serious workflow unlock.
