I Turned 50 Today… and Apparently That Comes With Clarity
[link to audio attached] I turned 50 today. 🎂 And apparently life did not get the memo that I had planned for this to be a cute, celebratory little milestone. 😂 I woke up a little melancholy. Drove the kids to school. Came home. Got some unexpected family news that completely changed the direction of my morning. Had lunch with women who were there for me during one of the hardest chapters of my life. And somewhere in the middle of all of it, I remembered: Oh yeah. I started this little space. 😂 Which honestly feels pretty fitting. I don’t know exactly what Conversations with Catina is going to become yet, and I’m intentionally not going to manufacture a content strategy just so I can say I have one. I do know what I want to talk about here. Business. Leadership. Reinvention. People. Money. Living authentically and intentionally. Family. Intuition. Connections. Transitions. Starting over. Things I’ve learned the easy way, things I’ve learned the ridiculously hard way, and probably a few rabbit holes that have absolutely nothing to do with anything until somehow they do. Today reminded me of something I’ve learned more than once: Sometimes clarity doesn’t come from figuring out how to control the outcome. It comes from recognizing what’s already outside of your control—and deciding what you’re going to do with what remains. At 50, I’m probably less interested in having all the answers than I’ve ever been. I’m much more interested in having really good conversations. So that’s what we’re going to do here. And since you’re one of the first people in the room, tell me something: ✨ cWhat are you trying to figure out in your life or business right now? ✨ Feel free to comment below or send me a message!
What Are You Reading… How Many at Once… and Will You Actually Finish? 😂
Am I the only person who reads 4 books at the same time… and apparently stores each one in a different part of the house? 🤦🏽‍♀️ It took me about 10 minutes to round these up. One was in my car. One was in the kitchen. One was by my desk. One was on the kitchen table. Honestly, I’m a little surprised there wasn’t one in my purse. But if you’re looking for something to read, these are all here for very different reasons: • You Speak — Finished this one. And apparently liked it enough to bring it into family dinner, because I distinctly remember stopping mid-conversation the other night to read everyone a section. 😂 • Choosing Easy World — Recommended by my friend/Reiki Master @Tyanne Jennings . I’m almost finished, although “finished” is relative because I’ve been jumping around based on the table of contents instead of reading it front to back. Highly recommend that approach, btw. • Passion-Driven Education — This one is pure curiosity for me. [Respectfully] I personally think our education system is an outdated institution, so I wanted to hear someone else’s thoughts on what education could look like if we started with a child’s interests instead of the system. • Maybe It’s Your Medications — The $32 Kinko’s impulse purchase. 😂 I saw it, was curious, bought it. Sometimes there really is no deeper story. So now I need to know… 🙋🏽‍♀️ Are you a one-book-at-a-time person, or do you also have a small library currently scattered throughout your home, vehicle and possibly handbag?

Meanwhile with Catina
Well… here we go. 😂 Welcome to Conversations with Catina. I’ve been kicking around the idea of creating one place where all the random things I’m constantly talking about, working on, learning, sharing and getting way too invested in could actually live together. This will probably include a little bit of everything — real life, community, decluttering, reselling, helping people rehome things they no longer need, local resources, the Community Closet initiative, conversations worth having, things I’ve figured out the hard way, and probably plenty of things I still have absolutely no idea what I’m doing with. 😂 What I don’t want this to be is another perfectly curated corner of the internet. I want it to be useful. I want it to be fun. I want people to actually talk to each other. And if we can help some people along the way, even better. Right now this place is very much under construction, so if you’re one of the first people in here, congratulations — you’re basically helping me move the furniture around. 😂 Tell me hi below and, more importantly, tell me: What kind of conversations, resources, events or random useful stuff would actually make you want to come back here?
