Hi everyone! 👋 It's been a little quiet around here lately, and I'll be the first to admit that I haven't been very active myself. But I'd really like to change that! I originally created this community because I love working with resin, making silicone molds, experimenting with colors, and turning crazy ideas into something real. And I know I'm not the only one who enjoys getting creative (and occasionally making a spectacular mess!). 😂 So, let's start with something simple. What are you working on at the moment? Are you casting something new, experimenting with a silicone mold, or perhaps struggling with a project that just won't cooperate? Tell us about it, and feel free to share a photo! Can You Mix Resin with Dolomite Powder? Let’s Find Out!
In this video, I test adding dolomite powder DT-80 to resin to make it go further and reduce casting costs. At around $1 USD per kilogram from my supplier, it’s an inexpensive filler! I use up to 100 g of dolomite powder per 100 g of mixed resin and compare three coloring options: • Liquid resin color — the best result in my test. • Mica powder — worked poorly in this mixture. • Color paste — worked reasonably well, but some pigment settled at the bottom. This method is for solid, opaque colors, as the powder removes transparency. Always keep the manufacturer’s resin-to-hardener ratio, use dry powder, and start with a small test batch. Hi everyone ❤️ I wanted to check in and see who’s still around in this little Skool community I created for people who love making things with resin, silicone, and a touch of AI. 🙂 I’ll be the first to admit that I haven’t been very active here lately, and I apologise for that. Life and projects have kept me busy, but I’d love to get some conversations going again. The idea behind this group is simple: a place where we can share our creations, exchange ideas, ask questions, and learn from each other. Whether you’re making your first silicone mold or casting resin every week, you’re welcome here. And you don’t need a perfect finished piece to post. Experiments, unfinished projects, and things that went completely wrong are welcome too. Sometimes the failed attempts teach us the most—and at least we can have a laugh together. 😄 So, what are you working on at the moment? Share a photo, tell us about your next idea, or just say hello.
