My React Movie Explorer Project
Just wanted to share React project I have been working on while practising the fundamentals. I built a Movie Explorer app where you can search movies by title and filter them by genre. It dinamically calsulates stats and click SHOW DETAILS opens up a modal with more information about selected movie. I mainly built it to practice state, props, callbacks and passing data between components. Still a few things I could probably improve but very happy with how it turned out 🙂 Next up I will be learning about apis so I am looking forward to eventualy replacing the hardcoded movie data with real data from an API. https://codesandbox.io/p/sandbox/movie-explorer-rr8xqz
I hate OneDrive!
Wish I would have known not to put my project in sync with OneDrive. It just messed up my folders with its sync. Then I wanted to move my project to C: so it will no longer sync, and now all of my files have disappeared. 😞 I can pull the code from GitHub, but I didn't get the chance to push my latest code so I think that's lost. Lesson learnt!
google coding interview
this is a presentation from google on how to approach a technical interview. I found it very insightful, although the solution is in c++, what is important here is the thinking process, how do you approach the problem, what are at least 2 ways in which you could solve the problem and which would be more efficient and WHY, edge cases and so on. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XKu_SEDAykw
Random Coding Fact?
What's a random coding fact/feature that you just like knowing? For me, my all-time favorite error code is error 418. Because the HTTP status code 418, "I'm a teapot", indicates that a server is refusing a request. And I love it for being a funny way to say "we can't process your request because i'm a short and stout teapot" 😄
