AI Won't Take Your Job — But Someone Who Understands It Will
This week I want to talk about something that I believe is the single most important mindset shift happening in our industry right now. And I want to be transparent with you: it's also the reason I'm evolving what I do and what this community is becoming. Let's get into it. 1. THE STATEMENT THAT SHOULD WAKE EVERY HOSPITALITY PRO UP "AI won't take your job — but someone who understands AI will." This isn't a threat. It's an invitation. The people who will lead the hospitality and events industry in the next 5 years are the ones learning AI right now. Not the technology itself, but how to apply it to real work, client experiences, event logistics, team communications, vendor management, and more. The gap between those who lean in and those who wait is widening every single day. 2. WHY I'M PIVOTING AND WHY IT MATTERS FOR YOU After years building my expertise in the events industry, I've made a decision: I'm combining everything I know about hospitality and events with the AI skills I've been developing and I'm bringing it here, to this community, first. This isn't about becoming a tech person. It's about being an events and hospitality professional who uses the most powerful tools available. I want to be the guide I wish I'd had. And this community is where I'll be sharing it all. 3. AI IS NOT ONE-SIZE-FITS-ALL AND HOSPITALITY IS UNIQUE The events and hospitality industry has nuances that generic AI advice doesn't address. Our timelines are unpredictable. Our clients are emotional. Our teams are stretched thin. Our logistics are complex. That's exactly why industry-specific AI education matters. I'm not here to teach you ChatGPT for the sake of it, I'm here to show you how it applies to YOUR work: run-of-show documents, supplier briefs, post-event reports, team onboarding, and so much more. 4. THE SKILLS GAP IS REAL AND IT'S YOUR OPPORTUNITY Right now, the majority of professionals in our industry are not using AI in any meaningful way. That means the learning curve is still accessible and the competitive advantage is still up for grabs.

Community Change
Hey everyone! I have some exciting news to share and some good news specifically for YOU. Starting April 24th, this community is officially becoming a paid membership. This means new members will pay $27 to join, which will allow me to invest even more into the content, resources, and support I bring to this space. But here's the thing: because you were here from the beginning, you're getting in FREE — for life (or as long as you stay a member). No charges, no catch. This is my way of saying thank you for believing in this community early on. One important note: please don't leave and rejoin the community, as you'd lose your free access and be prompted to pay like any new member. I'm grateful to have you here, and I can't wait to share with you what's coming next. — Teresa
My Two Cents - Freedom is...
Quote: "Freedom is not a life without chaos. It's trusting yourself to determine which dragons you will slay. It's not a life without battles but fighting those battles that result in your liberation." The Moment: I used to believe freedom would arrive once things calmed down: once the inbox was clear, the clients were happy, and the fires were out. But the chaos never stopped. What changed was that I finally noticed how many of the "battles" I was fighting were never mine to begin with. I was swinging at every dragon that showed up instead of choosing the ones worth my energy. The Lesson: Freedom isn't the absence of problems. It's the authority to decide which problems deserve you. Chaos will always exist, and someone else's urgency will always be knocking, but you get to choose what you fight, and that choice is where the freedom lives. Trusting yourself to make that call is a skill you build by practicing it, not a feeling you wait for. 🔥 Why it Matters: If you're waiting for a chaos-free life before you feel free, you'll wait forever. The people who build lives and businesses they love aren't the ones who avoided battles. They're the ones who got selective about them. Every fight you pick on purpose moves you closer to liberation, and every fight you take on by default keeps you busy and stuck. Pick the dragons that set you free, and let the rest go.
Small Wins - Part Two
Now that you are tracking your small wins - right?, let's connect them to your big goals. 1. CONNECTING SMALL WINS TO BIG GOALS — HOW AI SHOWS YOU THE LINE One of the most motivating things you can do is see clearly how the small daily disciplines connect to the big results you're working toward. Most people can't see that line, not because it isn't there, but because the gap between today's small action and next year's big result feels too wide to visualize. AI helps you draw that line explicitly. THE GOAL CONNECTION PROMPT: "My big goal for this year is: [describe your goal — growing your Skool community, building your reputation as the AI expert in hospitality, replacing a certain revenue stream, building a portfolio of SOPs]. Here are the small wins I've captured over the last month: [paste your captures]. Show me specifically how each of these small wins is contributing to my bigger goal, even if the connection isn't obvious. Then identify the two or three small actions I should focus on next month that are most likely to compound into meaningful progress toward the big goal." This prompt does something important: it makes the daily work feel purposeful rather than procedural. When you can see that the prompt you learned last Tuesday is connected to the client you'll land in six months, the daily effort feels different. 2. USING YOUR WIN LOG AS A PROFESSIONAL ASSET Here's a dimension of small win tracking that most people never think about: your accumulated win log is one of the most useful professional documents you'll ever build. It is a living record of your growth, your achievements, and your capabilities written in real time, not reconstructed from memory when you need it. Consider what you can do with it: YOUR NEXT PERFORMANCE REVIEW: Instead of trying to remember what you accomplished this year, you have a month-by-month log of specific wins with context. You walk into that conversation with evidence, not impressions. YOUR NEXT PROPOSAL OR PITCH: "Here are three specific things I've done in the last six months that demonstrate exactly why I'm the right person for this event" is a significantly stronger position than "I have 30 years of experience."

This week's Lesson Learned: Be Intentional With Your Career, Not Reactive to It
Context: A client asks you to take on work outside your lane, something adjacent to what you do, something they "really need," something that feels too good (or too urgent) to say no to. This happens with me quite often. What happens: You make the mistake of letting someone else's request set the direction of your career instead of your own plan. You say "yes" because it's flattering, because it pays, or because you don't want to disappoint them, and slowly your business becomes a patchwork of whatever clients have asked for, instead of what you actually set out to build. A year later you look up and realize you're known for the thing you fell into, not the thing you were intentional about. Every "yes" to a derailing request is quietly a "no" to the focused expertise you were trying to build in the first place. Read that last sentence again! What to do differently: Get clear on your lane before the requests start coming in, so you have something to measure them against. Ask: does this request move me toward the career I'm intentionally building, or does it just solve someone else's immediate need at the cost of my own focus? A client's urgency is not the same as your priority. It's okay to say, "That's not something I do, but here's who can help", protecting your focus isn't rejecting the client, it's respecting your own direction enough to stay on it. 🔥 Takeaway for you: Your career direction should be set by your own intention, not by whoever asks the loudest. Protect your focus like it's the asset it is, because the people who build the clearest reputations are the ones who kept saying no to what didn't fit, not the ones who said yes to everything. This is not always easy, I know as I have said "yes" and then wished I would not have said yes. The more you say "no" to what doesn't fit, the easier it gets and the faster you will achieve your career goals.
